Sadly in the current condition she's in it's best to retire. It doesn't make sense for her to continue playing with injuries especially if that's what kept her from finishing the National Games.

her injury is actually what caused her to stop playing, she was in so much pain

Yes, she couldn't even finish the national games. Liaoning was never going to win against Tianjin and beat Shanghai 3-0 but I'm sure she would have wanted to take part.

With her retiring, I hope they would give her some sort of retirement ceremony. It would be sad if the last we hear/see from Yan Ni is her leaving the national games for injury treatment.
