TJ Sanders may not go to Tokyo. You don't feel much difference in the team's level when he's on court. His setting doesn't seem to show an edge over the other two setters in the team now, and he's become a liability in blocking.

Based on their performance at VNL, I think team USA's best squad at Tokyo (starters in bold) will be:
S: Christenson, K. Shoji / Tuaniga
OH: Defalco, Muagututia, T. Sander, Jaeschke
MB: Holt, Smith / Averill
OPP: Anderson, Ensing
L: E. Shoji
T. Sander's recovery would be a key factor. Jaeschke won't be able to deliver more than the current duo.
Beyond these 13 players, B. Patch is the player still in consideration. If B. Patch has superb scoring capability, it'd make make sense to bring him as a reserve OPP. Unfortunately, he cannot convert his athleticism into the fuel for an invincible scoring machine. Leaving his terrible non-scoring skills aside, his hitting errors are enough to intimidate any coach away for an Olympic squad selection -- you want to bring players you can trust and know when to use him during those elimination matches.
Between K. Shoji and Tuaniga, whoever goes to Tokyo won't make a difference. Both of them are ok backups.

Well, I think T.Sander has locked the spot, despite he doesn’t play and the others are fighting for the three remaining places. He always shows high quality vball and maybe he is just led to be in 100% health and in shape on the Olympics considering his previous injuries.
