    Things began to go downhill since Fabi's retirement + losing Fabi and Gabi at the same time was an immense hit

    Sponsorship, essentially. Back then, the team was sponsored by Unilever. It was never the biggest investment in the League, but it was always a great investment, so the team could hire strong players. It's kinda obvious you're gonna depend a lot on your more offensive OH... Milena was probably hired to challenge Maira, since their style are very different from Peña. And I don't know how much Peña's earning, she's an olympic player, we know she feels good in the team's environment, maybe she agreed on earning less than she could elsewhere... But after having her for 3 years, we know what to expect from her. In this team, she needs to be a leader, which is sort of a recipe for... something like tonight's match.

    Most definitely. Giovana was coming from an off season with Flu, Juma is a mess, then you have a very limited OPP in Monique and a below average one on the bench, one unreliable and error prone OH (Peña), one OH who can't attack (Maira), a second libero masquerading as an OH (Gabiru), an older Jucy who can no longer carry the load and make a difference every match, two wildcard MBs in Milka and Valquíria (you never know what level they'll show) and then Natinha who is no Fabi. Bernardo would be better off trying youngsters like Flu and Barueri are doing instead of relying on late 20s players who have never achieved anything Superliga-wise. Milena could've been that and I feel like she was on her way to become a starter, but then...

    I also think they missed a big one with Drussyla. She was very promising in 2016. Too bad things take left turn on her. I am glad she is back on court now.


    Do you guys think Brazil is running short of players that can be competitive at NT level based on Superliga this year? (excluding the already starter for NT).

    If Barueri is able to challenge Minas as we saw in the beginning of the last set and right now in these first points of the 3rd, I think that is actually very good for Minas, cause during the 2nd set they were just coasting. If Minas will be able to rise to the occasion and beat Bauru and Praia, they need to leave their comfort zone. Of course, the damage is Barueri actually winning, but so far I still have a hard time picturing that.

    I wish the girls from Barueri would start playing with more attitude. They don't have to be obnoxious like Rosa or Mayany, but they need a little hatred in their hearts lol
