Italy - Serie A1 2021/22

  • All propaganda and narrative aside, the most impressive thing about this co-record is how many close games Conegliano has won throughout this streak since the late part of last season, like, I thought by myself probably ten times or so that this is a moment when they're gonna drop it, and yet no matter of a lineup they've been able to figure it out and win. Especially the consistency of Egonu is something unparalleled, even when she starts slowly the way she did today, she's still able to raise her level up.

The other thing is that it is unhealthy to push Egonu to play with such usage in irrelevant regular season games, so the sooner they break this record, probably the better for Egonu, with no pressure to win EVERY game from regular season. She definitely needs some rest and better load management.

  • The record is really cool but Imoco doesn't look that dangerous anymore.. A lot of close calls recently, the magic is fading away...

Even last year, they looked worse since February or so (in comparison to earlier part of the season), there was lot of close games in both Coppa Italia, playoffs of Serie A and Champions League, where many times basically only Egonu scoring effortlessly 30, 35, even 40 points on insane efficiency was pushing Conegliano through. They went from all-round team to Egonuliano due to shape of their OHs.

This season they have more injury issues with absence of Fahr, De Gennaro and Sylla, and Egonu is clearly in her solid-not-great shape, so they're even more touchable. But kudos to every other team for not exploiting that, I guess.

  • No, this record is not cool, it is phenomenal.

They have broke 34 YEARS OLD ITALIAN RECORD and tie with World Record. And in the next match they can make another history by making it as own record.

Imoco Conegliano just wrote history and We enter this season without losing single match so magic is still here and they are not stoping. Still no team who can beat them.
Every single match was with extra pressure, especially last 5 matches now they can relax and enjoy it.

  • Bia is for now having really solid season in Scandicci. I didn’t have huge hopes for her but She is doing really nice job.

  • Is Perinelli injured or something? I haven't seen her playing for a while now...

  • What is up with everyone. Every player went to another country like they have mini vacation

    Rosamaria and Cate.Bosetti in Spain

    Ebrar back to Turkey

    Plummer in Switzerland

Monza players stayed one more day in Rome

Oh God I’m so jealous, volleyball as your job, making great money and travelling  The dream.

  • This whole Antropova situation is getting real messy, FIVB ruled she would have to play as Russian and Scandicci/Sassuolo would have to pay the iternational transfer for the season she played in Italy, and Scandicci agreed to this (Camera is back from her injury so they can cut Milanova without foreigner issues). But apparently now she wants to appeal to FIVB ruling, so she will likely stay out for even longer. I honestly don't know what to think of this, I just hope she gets back on court as soon as possible

  • There is one thing that I totally don't understant.

I assume she came to Italy having russian passport. She didn't have any connections with Italy before that, right? She also doesn't have EU passport.

And then... she started playing for Sassuolo. How is that possible that they (Sassuolo) registered her as Italian? Shouldn't she have any visa/other permission to work in Italy?

It's allowed to be registered as Italian if you have a visa and don't have a previous registration on your home country (the home country federation has to provide documentation of this, and russian federation did). I don't know exactly how did she get the visa, but she moved to Italy with her mother and I think they're a rich family which would make thing easier
