  • New Salary guideline for Foreign player in Korean League

if it's the 2nd year playing in Korea: USD $550,000
if it's the 3rd year playing in Korea: USD $600,000

That is a lot of money.

part of the reason for the high salary is as follows:

Hopefully prevents leaving in mid-season as the teams would not release you from your contract. Let alone this should keep you registered for the entirety of the season.

Also very hard to find a replacement in middle of season if you don’t like it there.

Teams do not have compete over salary for foreign players. Kind of like a salary cap with KOVO does have, but foreign players will not hurt everyone. If you want to be paid well and then want to stay we’ll pay more is a good idea.

Teams can choose where they want their player, opposite, outside hitter or middle, with feeling that they are overpaid by position.

  • If the French LNV Budgets are just for players (which I don't know), 16 players for Nantes at a budget of 1.4 million euros would be around 87,500 euros per player.

    LNV Media Guide

Perhaps half of that budget ought to be reserved for salaries, which is still extremely handsome vis-a-vis many other nations and the general pay there. The rest should be expenses for coaches, managment staff, facilities and travels etc. It is not realistic to assume that the players earn 87.500 euro per player. I mean, the average for a basketball-player in French First League for women is 45.000 euro per player and the French League is much better basketball-wise than volleyball-wise, containing some of the best players in the world from the WNBA. An average of roughly 30.000-40.000 euro/year is more realistic with regard to the salaries of Nantes.

No you are not wrong. In Sweden you would make 6000 euros in two months as a PhD candidate (no benefits included though). Maybe that's why Sweden cannot transfer foreigners lol, you are not allowed to employ someone that cheap, they won't issue a visa unless you earn 1300 euros/month.

Tbh, this is great, albeit not incredible put into context with other hyper-wealthy western nations. In Switzerland, according to this website https://www.eui.eu/programmesa…eersbycountry/switzerland , the average PhD candidate accumulates an amount of 55.000 dollar per year, i.e exceeding 4500 dollar per month with much lower tax rate than in Sweden (like 20%, somewhat depending on location given their regional tax system).
