Japan - V.League V1 (Division 1, Women) 2021-2022

  • The girls are calling the NoSmiler match. I got confused with three matches going on

  • I love it when I'm right. Lols

Good on Tanaka, too. I get vibes from her that she supports this. And as you say, she's ready. She came in against Himeji a couple weeks back and chewed the place up

  • Yoshino Nishikawa is taking nice baby steps :rose:

  • I hope Hyodo wakes up. I want some Hyodo action

  • Does anyone know if these Denso/Toray commentators are even talking about the volleyball game? :)

  • Does anyone know if these Denso/Toray commentators are even talking about the volleyball game? :)

idk, whenever the woman shares her insights to the man, all the man's responses are hai, which is yes lmao hahahaha! they seem just like friends who are just talking casually about the game

  • Nothing like a serve sub error

  • TORAY won the match!!! i was lowkey hoping for a fifth set, too bad acosta didnt put that away, rena dug her ball enabling for them to play transition

  • Toray continues to win unconvincingly

:) Closer match than I expected. A couple overtimes. I wanted a tie break

If Hyodo and Kudo could up their game just a little bit it would go a long way

That dig signaled the end for me :( (denso fan here) :)

    Oh Toyota :( I'm crushed ;(

  • I really like Hyodo, she's one of my top OH this season. I like their play better when Acosta isn't playing yet though. I like the local wing trio.

I was hoping for a tie break on that match. Looking at stats now, Jana Kulan had 46 pts

Nakamoto is a mystery to me. Sometimes I look at her and think she doesn't even look like a volleyball player :rolll: not disparagingly, just straight up

And what's the deal with Toukoku? She's been invited to the NT. Why isn't she playing with impunity ... for Denso?

  • OK, what was I thinking about Toyota beating Kurobe. Kelsey being the only player with double digits tor Toyota , but they can’t keep putting her as the opposite. Toyota can’t decide how they want to attack from a line up standpoint, constantly switching the formation. Pick one, and it will enable some consistency.

Merete Lutz with a good performance for Kurobe.

JT with almost two full wins lead over second Toray, 5 points. NEC being now 2+ full loses behind, so the bye to the final is basically in JT’s hands with 20 games to go. Annie basically could play a couple more years in JT and might get “foreigner bonus”. In Japanese baseball, if a foreign player stays for in Japan for enough years, they don’t count as a foreigner any more.

    per Japanesebaseball.com

Currently, the rules for foreign players to be treated as Japanese players is as follows:

    • Live in Japan for five or more years, attending junior high, senior high, a two-year college, and/or vocational school for three years.
    • Live in Japan for four or more years, continuously attending a Japanese university for four or more years.

So, when we look at Valdes, she probably falls under the first category. Not saying Drews falls under these categories, but she likes her team, they’ve been champs since she joined and she’s probably getting paid well. Also probably likes the sights too.
