Wouldn't any team do so? If you had a scoring option who has >50% (54.55%) success rate, why not send that spiker every set if its basically a guaranteed point, without even needing to vary your scoring options or use other players to draw blockers away. It's not like she's lacking stamina or having long rallies yet too haha

Of course, in the long run for the whole of 6 rounds, they shouldn't tire her out like what IBK did to Lazareva, who also participated heavily in defence.

Ibk had no answer for Yasmin, its the correct strategy.

Yasmin scored 43 points against Diouf's 54, but if they went to 5 sets I think she might have surpassed that!

I thought someone will reply you, but the vball novice - me, shall try and figure what went wrong with IBK. lol

imo, it's setter. I mean, yes, IBK is horrible at receives (total meltdown at the 2nd set). But even when they did manage to receive nicely, setter aka songhwa can do a bump set, which slows down the ball, hyundai blockers are there ready to block it down.

songhwa's sets are predictable, and slow. she does so many bump settings. the sub setter is also ordinary. I've heard a commentator saying, a good setter will help the players get out of tough situations and get them to score.

If the players get less than ideal sets, they would need to play smarter to score? hahahah idk man...

Rebecca Lassam, so far, she seems to be the weakest amongst the foreign players after the 4 games. Then again, is it because of the sets?

And i'm looking forward to see who will be able to stop Yasmin.

Yasmin just killed it and no doubt Hillstate will def look like a top contender this season. Which will be an amazing turnaround story from the last to the first.

IBK was just really meh - mainly becoz of their setter - and I still feel Hee Jin is out of place as a center; and bet they must be missing Anna Lazareva!

Both, though IBK's poor receiving was the main point being criticized, the media did defend Rebecca's poor performance on the poor sets she received too.

But like 4volley said, Songhwa uses way too many bump sets instead of overhand sets and she's really slow.

This is usually inevitable when setters get bad receives, but being able to set a bad ball well is what differentiates a good setter from an average/bad one.

Not sure how it'll turn out this year, but I feel Kim Hakyung (back-up setter) performs better than Songhwa.

Recall how Songhwa played really badly during semi-finals game 1 last year even in chance ball situations, and Kim Hakyung was finally subbed in for game 2 helping them win against PS.
IBK could've won game 3 with Kim Hakyung setter too, but by then Lazareva's back pain got too severe & Shin Yeonkyeong libero also got injured.

Only those who have been vaccinated can enter the stadium in the Seoul Metropolitan Area (social distancing level 4). Spectators for matches outside of this area are not required to be vaccinated (social distancing level 3).

There won't be spectators in tomorrow's match between Hi-pass and Hillstate because Hi-pass has decided that they will start to admit spectators from the second home match on Oct. 29.

But other than that, we can start seeing fans from today's match between AI Pepper and KGC Ginseng.
