    Japan still has reasonable chances to qualify. If Netherlands loses to Italy by 3x0 or 3x1 any tie break in the match between DOM and NED gives Japan a spot in QF.

    Other result than tie break the winner advances in the match between DOM and NED.

    I really don’t like this format. A team loses 2 of 3 matches and has chances to qualify to QF and worse than that the QFs can have the same games of pool stage. Really early imo to have same teams playing again.

    Handebol still remains with 2 pools of 6

    Doesn’t matter, Serbia already has 4 points and in worst case scenario it would go through as one of 2 best 3rd ranked teams.
    Japan and Kenya have 0 points so 3rd ranked team in group B will have maximum of 3 points in the end which makes Serbia guaranteed qualifier as of now already with 4 points.


    China and Italy will be another guaranteed qualifier if they win their 2nd round games (very likely) no matter the result. USA will need just 1 set against France to also be guaranteed qualified.


    In most likely scenario NED, DR and JPN will fight for 8th spot in QF, while CHN-SRB, BRA-POL and TUR-ITA will decide group winners and placements from 1-7 overall.

    First part dont really matter, this team will play best ranked team in 1/4 and lose.


    But second part is ridiculous, there is chance that 2/4 games will be rematches, maybe even 3/4 if Japan make it to 1/4.

    It just tells that three teams from Group A will advance into QF due those five-sets, provided no upset made by the host team, which I believe so! The last spot will be NED/DOM or JPN, in that order.

    Now things are going badly for Japan: whoever comes third in Pool A will be ahead of them and, most likely, the third in Pool C will be ahead of them too...

    Only very unlikely (but not impossible, it must be said) combinations of results could get them through to the quarter-finals...

    If NED takes a set from Italy and they win with any score against DR (even in 5) then Japan is out.

    In case od 3-2 win then, Netherlands would have 3 points with 6-8 ratio and Japan would be 3 points with 4-6 ratio.

    If Netherlands loses 3-0 against Italy then any tie break in DR-NED match would mean Japan is qualified.

    Oh thanks for answer, on some pages on instagram i saw that serbia needs to win 3-0 or 3-1 to qualify.

    Also it is very unpredictable who will play with who in quarterfinals.
