NED is much inspired this set. Better connection and distribution between spikers, specifically the NED MB is doing so much damage. They are starting to disturb the great system ITA has done in Set 2 but ITA is still leading.

After a great few runs, ITA is now solidly leading, primarily attacking Plak in dig AND few reception miscues from NED. I am shocked the coach had not used his double sub yet for NED.

As already mention by Let Go Orange, De Gennaro is doing great digging but the OHs too are just literally raising anything right now. Insanity. They are making NED look like a lesser team.

Imo Buijs as opposite with Knollema and Daalderop as OHs would do very good for NL, van Aalen as setter and rotate all other players in if needed like Jasper, Plak, Bongaerts, all the MBs etc.

I can't wait for all the hateful toxic comments on Instagram about Buijs not playing. Yes I think reception line with her - Nika/Jolien - Reesink is doomed to get aced, but if Jasper is on court it's worth a shot. It's like they decided to save energy today and go full focus on a 3-1/3-0 win Saturday morning

Antropova in beast mode, Orro playing clean volleyball and De Gennaro and both libero's playing great defense made the clear difference today.
Buijs is just too scared to make substitutions! Knollema was just bad today, especially in reception/ defense. Why wait so long to let Jasper play? Also Plak had no impact in attack and made a lot of errors in defense. Both Buijs and Dambrink would have been better options! I don't get all the hate against Daalderop... Sure she isn't at her best, but it's clear she had a serious shoulder injury and she isn't 100% fit yet. She is doing her job in reception, defense and serve. Also she is the only one mixing up her shots in attack when full power doesn't work.

Yea and they could also rotate her and Plak instead of putting her on reception, I also agree that she would work with Jasper. In general with this team I feel like we need to see more creativity coming from Felix, and I think the team would benefit a lot from doing a lot of rotations, but Felix doesn't roll that way I guess. Generally he aims at getting just the objective achieved with a clear system and doesn't care about overperforming which I find sad. Watching the match honestly I didn't feel a difference in level except ofc Antropova/Opposite position for Italy but it seems team Italy just knows better what to do with their roster.

It doesn't say there, here I think it puts together errors and getting blocked. Hopefully someone can post the same scoresheet I saw for other games with more info

Buijs is closest thing that Netherlands have to power OP. I dont understand why she is on the bench last 6,7 matches. OP, OH who care, just to have someone to attack strong and without respect.

Italy was amazing but unfortunately this was not the starting team. I am really impressed that nobody is comment about how unconventional and frivolous was this strategy from Velasco. Olympics is NOT VNL. No one guarantees that Italy will have more than four matches and without even the team to find rhythm he subs the most important player of the team and the starting OH. If Italy wants the gold they need the good Egonu and Bosetti and the first has no rhythm and the other no pshychology since it was not neccesary to sub her for the whole match because had a really bad VNL and needs good matches more than anyone.

About Netherlands there are no words for Felix. She just has a perception problem. After a VNL where NL had for once good performaces by their OPP he chhose to ignore it and put Plak as a starter. Also Buijs was from the irst week of VNL the best player of the team and after that she has not played not even one match with no reason. Scandicci was so lucky. Just this.
