That ref mistake is really not good in a fifth set like this, ruined it alot on crucial point.

Elif slayed again and again

What a rollercoster game China choked when it mattered the most and Turkey played their best game when it mattered the moat. If Cai made some changes in that Derya service run in 4th we maybe could’ve had different set.
Referee was HORRIBLE. Baladin lifts, Yuan and Wang lifts, Turkey invasion of space… all should’ve been called. -
Vargas with 41 points!!!!
-
Elif’s maybe won the last point but her balls to Vargas are so bad every time I see them play together lmao. It’s not that hard to set her but thankfully Vargas is Vargas
-
Congrats to the fucking ref
-
Congrats to Turkey! It would be nice for them to win a medal especially for Cansu whose injury hopefully is not that serious
-
Okay so I'm not a fan of the way they got to match point with questionable ref decisions etc, but that last point by Elif was iconic I was screaming 'no Vargasball' and she delivered!
-
Congrats, Turkey! This is a landmark victory for them. So sorry for china. Diao's misplaced sets on the middles + Zhu not killing the ball in the early part of tiebreak robbed them of points. The referee's questionable calls didn't help either.
-
Congratulations to Türkiye.
Of course, I don't like this referee.
When Wu Meng-jie spiked the ball out, perhaps this is just it.
-
Turkey is set to compete against either Serbia or Italy, which promises to be an exhilarating match-up.
It will be particularly exciting to watch Vargas go head-to-head with either Boskovic or Egonu.
-
yessss turkey won, they were literally crying their way to the SF because of how much pain players are enduring, but collected every ounce of strength to win and boy did they deserve to qualify to SF. Hats down

unless the injuries prove to be non-serious, i don't think turkey will be very competitive in the rest of the tournament. they won this one due to sheer willpower but you can't do that in 3 matches back-to-back.

I'm glad that my OG disappointments (elimination of Dutch team, Stam/Schoon, handball girls and now China) are happening early in the day so there is time to recover and end the day with joy (Gold 4*400m relay, 3*3 basketball). Curious to see who will win a medal for TeamNL today to lift my spirits
-
Its gonna be an All Americas and Euro Semis!
-
I’m so so happy for the girls! After all the injuries and obstacles, they made the semis!

The refs also missed some rotation errors on the turkish side.
On rotation 1, Vargas has to stand on the left of OH1 before running around. Instead multiple times she was standing in between OH1 and OH2. Happened a lot of times, not just this match
Did anyone else notice that? -

Did anyone else notice that?I don't know if it's the case now, but I've seen teams pass with their backrow OH on the left side and the front row OH between them and libero. Perhaps they did this?

Its the OG of horrendous refereeing, and team breakthroughs lol. This is the second crucial game with god-awful end game calls that could have turn the game lol.

Semifinalists prediction:
Serbia, Turkey, Dominicans, Poland
Let's try some bold predictions lol, I know so far everyone goes with the opposite of this based on current forms and even AI does, but I wouldn't be surprised if I got 1-2 of these correct or more, the level this OG has been pretty similar between the teams, I don't think anyone is dominating the tournament, so dominating on the specific day will be enough, 1 match is doable.
As of now you are 100% correct. Turkey in, China out
