2024 Paris Olympic Games

  • USA can win over SRB but they need to start with at least one of their stronger offensive pins (ie Skinner-Plummer). They literally wasted their time with both Larson-Kelsey in the first two sets of the match - who could not efficiently produce. That's a big BUT and CAN.

  • I’m pretty close to say that all of quarterfinalists may become medalists at this point. Mostly the matchup and the shape on this specific date will matter but there seems to be no clear favourite so far.
Also even top spot or second spot after group phase doesn’t give anything as this team may play Serbia, USA or China as 7th/8th team. Quarterfinals should really be great.

  • She had a bad match for many multiple reasons. As Karakurt (2 sets) , Ozbay, Saliha, Egonu (2 sets), Lukasik, Brenda, etc had in their debut. They are humans at the end, even if they are professional and some of them are super experienced, it is an Olympic debut at the end. It happens. Sure, the issue comes when it is a trend (for example, Egonu in Tokyo, but then we knew her personal reasons for scuh a bad performance). So far, we shall wait for the second match of all these players to know if it is a trend or only a bad day.

Saliha is not in the Olympics lol

  • Saliha is not in the Olympics lol

I confused with the setter Elif Sahin. For me they look similar and the last name and name are very similar. Sorry.

  • Is it true that Hancock will replace Carlini? I prefer Hancock but that seems very brutal for Carlini...

Yup, it’s all over Twitter. It must be heartbreaking for Carlini. Every time I watch her interviews in the past 3 years, all I hear is “Olympics.” That’s how she badly wants it. I saw this coming tho. Hancock is better for double sub coz she’s a multi-awarded best server.

  • I hope that is nothing serious because if Poulter will play bad, specially in an important match, Hancock can not replace her.

? Hancock is much better than Carlini

  • Off-Topic Question: Will Carlini get a medal if USA gets to podium?

    yep

  • In fact what I understood is that all teams needs to include the 13th in the match in order to give medals to everyone.

This thing had becoming so awkward that ppl should just allow 13 players and get over it. If isn’t for medals or place in the village. Why makes things so difficult.

  • I think teams choose who sits out the game as 13th players for each match.. Carlini can basically be back in roster next game if Karch wants her back, in fact both Carlini and Hancock can be in roster for next game. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that was the last change they made to the whole 13th player mess, or I might have lost something in translation.

If USA gets medal all 13 players will get it, same for Turkey now. Only if 1 player sits out all games as 13th and never appears in roster for any game then they don’t get the medal, that’s at least how I understood it.. as long as any player appears on roster for at least 1 game and sits out every other they will still get the medal if teams wins.

  • i think USA planning to switch all 3 setters throughout the competition, because it make sense why you'd bring the 13th player if you will not use her specially all 3 setter are almost the same level and all of them will get a medal if they win. I will not be surprise if poulter will be the 13th player next game against France. Lol

  • In where:S:S:S??? She has no expirience as starter in NT and her years in Novara was not her best. So simple is not a player who can handle the pressure in the highest level when Carlini can.

literally wtf are you talking about? If anything Hancock is the least likely to crack under pressure out of anyone on the USA team and she has a LOT of starter experience so I literally don’t know what you’re saying
