2024 Paris Olympic Games

  • Oh thanks for answer, on some pages on instagram i saw that serbia needs to win 3-0 or 3-1 to qualify.

Also it is very unpredictable who will play with who in quarterfinals.

If Serbia wins 3-0/3-1 then it will qualify as winner of group A and likely 3rd seed overall which will play worst ranked 2nd team (most likely USA or TUR). In case Serbia wins China in 3-2 then things get super complicated and 1-3 of group A will be based on points ratio :white:

1st rule of fight club, never trust people on instagram

  • If NED takes a set from Italy and they win with any score against DR (even in 5) then Japan is out.

In case od 3-2 win then, Netherlands would have 3 points with 6-8 ratio and Japan would be 3 points with 4-6 ratio.

If Netherlands loses 3-0 against Italy then any tie break in DR-NED match would mean Japan is qualified.

Thanks for doing the calculations for me, so at least a set vs Italy will help us loads?! who knows, if Italy starts bad again like vs. DR it's possible lol

  • So afaik brazil should be 1st ranked team in combined ranking for quarterfinals right? They have two 3-0 matches won

if they beat Poland 3-0 or 3-1 then yes if Poland wins in 3 or 4 probably it’s gonna be Poland

  • Poland definitely dark horse of the tournament, can't wait to see what they can do in quarterfinals, but generally very dangerous team

depending on who they draw it might be interesting. Certainly China doesn’t fit them, but with USA or Italy it might be close match.

Turkiye more likely than Italy, i expect poland to be best 2nd team and to be one of 4 seeded teams. On the other hand, i expect italy 1st, turkuye 2nd in group c

my mistake. You are right. 🤙🏻

  • assuming my calculations are correct, refer to red.

For NED to qualify: A win from NED . any score will do.

For JPN to qualify: A win from DOM, at any score.

sorry it's super scuffed. no time to do formatting

3-0 win from DOM and they will qualify and not JPN. Their 5-6 ratio beats Japans 4-6 in that case. In case DOM wins 3-1 then again they qualify with 5-7 set ratio.
3-2 win from NED but losing 3-0 to Italy will make them 5-8 set ratio and they fail due to Japan’s 4-6 sets ratio and JPN qualifies.

Japan doesn’t qualify if either team wins 3-1/3-0. After NED-ITA match we will know how 3-2 NED win over DOM will affect Japan’s chances, but so far regardless of NED-ITA match Japan doesn’t qualify if it’s not 5 set match that’s 100%

my sincere apologies i have forgotten that NED has yet to play against ITA so my* numbers are incorrect.
