2024 Paris Olympic Games

  • It’s getting quite painful for the Dutch fans like me 😢

You should look at this from another point.
NED is lucky enough they are playing in Paris at all as they were on the edge. This tournament is a great lesson for the young players and can built them in the future.
They need to develop and progress to close matches like this one with Turkey (and at this point it can be painful that they lost their chance) but at the end it’s not so bad. Dominicans are not so easy to beat and the team need mental growth to stabilise their position in the world’s volleyball.

  • There's is a *very* small chance to qualify if Japan loses but it ain't gonna happen.

If you're 14-14 equal and a bit later you're 14-21 behind, than that is a coaching mistake. This lose is fully on Koslowski. That Anne Buijs did not see the court today is unforgivable. And don't even get me started about Reesink at the Olympics smh

I am waiting eagerly for Maarten Tip to make us proud and ask/annoy Felix in mixed zone why Anne wasn't used basically at all. Injured? Should have changed her with Nova. Not good enough? Should have left her at home. Let me get my tea and popcorn to see what his excuses are :hit:

I cursed a lot today because of Kowloski's inaction.

  • DOM fans and JPN fans must be :sos:

  • Let’s factcheck, guys.

Koslowski simply doesn’t belong to this level, he shouldn’t coach any teams playing in an Olympics.

  • Congrats DOM! Really, what a way to classify, saving many "back to home" points from them.

    It means, bye Japan.

Japan was one point away to qualify, but honestly, passing to next round after beating only Kenya while other teams were battling in other pools.

  • Not NL playing their best match vs. Türkiye :rolll: who would have thought! Ending 10th in the end, could have been 8th but still a good learning experience for the youngsters. Hopefully they can enjoy some other Olympic matches now and support fellow TeamNL athletes to make the most out of the OG experience :flower:

Also, please Japan sweep Kenya 3-0 now so we don't get "what ifs" lol

  • JPN literally could not get a set to Brazil (who for their credit had smashed the heck of JPN in the OGs) or spare a point from POL. They kinda deserve to be removed for that. This also means Koga will never make it to any quarters in her OG career. JPN will always have the VNL anyhow.

  • At this point the only relatively "quiet" spot in the separate ranking of the best eight for the quarterfinals will be first place...

For everyone else, very difficult and balanced challenges are expected and, in some cases, there could even be early near-finals...

Surely, at least a couple of medal contenders will be out before the semi-finals, in what are proving to be among the most difficult and balanced Olympics of recent editions...

  • maybe they shouldn't have gotten trashed by poland and brazil, it's not like they fought to the end but missed the QFs by some tiny misfortune.

Japan wasnt at all trashed by Poland. They lost 1-3 (25-20, 22-25, 23-25, 26-28). In any parallel universe that score is been trashed.

Trashed are the scores against Brazil. They had some set points in order to force a tie-break and with that, over passing DOM in points. (regardless if they lose that tie-break or not).

  • great hustle to DOM though. Kwiek, thankfully made strong substitutions and helped stabilize the team. Also, Brayelin showing up in the most important stretch of DOM is so welcome. She has been quite lackluster this OGs.

NED's coach is so awful. I just knew he'll take things far too long to adjust her girls.
