IMHO there's not a single team - except Italy (and China maybe) - as good as in Tokyo. The tournament is pretty much low/average level.
Serbia, USA, Japan and DR are shadows of the teams they used to be. Brazil is also a bit worse, but not that much. Turkey, Poland and Netherlands were not there at all, but, except the current polish team, Turkey and Netherlands are no factor in these games, for different reasons.
Missing Russia and South Korea (aka KYK providing monster performances) is really something.
You are certainly not doing your research properly with regard to this topic. Turkey qualified for Tokyo and lost 3-2 to South Korea in the QF.

I didn't watch a single game of USA in Tokyo. I was too mad at Karch. I remember their VNL level in 2021 and it was higher than this 2024 summer.
