    Congratulations Italy, they are really strong in every element and deserved to be in the final. Its time to bring Gold Medal to Europe i believe. This could really be Italy's year if they win Gold. :flower:

    Don't forget the classy distribution of Bosetti and Sylla, I cant believe I am saying this, because I sorta underestimated them as a duo.


    Cate did all the invisible work in the back-row (digging, setting and passing) and even scoring.


    On Turkish side, #11 was such a dark horse, she has a beautiful arm swing.

    This is ridiculous level in blocking and defense by Italy, I don't know when was the last time we've seen something like that, there's no team that can play even a decent game offensively against Italy so far.


    I wonder if USA can even put up a decent fight, Italy has never been under any real pressure this summer, only single sets lost. Brazil should be a favorite against Turkey by significant margin based on what they've showed this summer.

    Simply wow. No words, what a match, even though it was only a straight set win. First of all, congratulations Italy! No matter what, they have secured an Olympic medal, a goal which so esquive for them during the last decades, a goal which many times put in doubt their status as traditional vball powerhouse. Despite of the injuries and last calls, they did it. I liked so much how patient they were, the trio Velasco, Bernardi and Barbolini were always so focused giving technic indications, etc, like a proper vbal open air vball lesson. They were many times behind in the score, I guess even 5 pts in the first set, but they looked so focused and calmed, trusting in themselves.

    Sure, I miss the explosive Egonu, like many of us, but it is so nice to see her under this new approach. Moki gave another masterclass love her, and at 37 yo! Once again, the double change worked and Giovannini delivered. Last but not least, I wanted to point out that Fahr was such a non factor, but then she decided to shut not only Turkiye hopes, but also our mouths, and scored 4 of the last 5 pts (3 blocks +1 attack), and she even was the one who set to Sylla for closing the match :D


    For Turkiye...really, I dont know what to say. For me they played much MUCH better than the last time, Elif tried to not force Vargasball and she distributed quite well, but then she got frustrated cuz her OHs were not scoring (Ebrar was a shadow, like really, a shadow, I do really hope this experience help her to humble down). I still consider it was a big mistake to not bring Tugba.

    As I always have stated, I love Olympics cuz it gives u the chance to redeem: Turkiye lost in such a bad way last time, now they have the chance to fight for a historic medal. It isnt the time for gold (yet), they still need to find better quality. And Italy also had a terrible exit in Tokyo: crushed 3-0 by SRB, so much bashing and hate from their own people, etc. Im so happy for that whole team in general, specially Moki and of course, Paoletta, after what she had to live in Tokyo for personal reasons.


    Last but not least, love the Olympic spirit. It is the best, cuz there is no room for hate. It is so refreshing to see a final without toxic fan base and I do really hope that would help to downgrade the horrid conflictive propaganda VolleyWorld is playing in their social networks in order to generate interaction.
