When your team finally played better and won a good game you should have continued to play with the same starting 6 whose have better confidence, and to build some more momentum between them.
Jasper can’t score and as a short player her reception also isn’t that good to compensate her poor attack. Selinger’s decision to put an early double sub in the second set to play with an OH & Opp who both couldn’t score at the front row was just a disaster.
I don't want to defend selinger but considering the problem of Netherlands today was reception, it makes sense that he started with a better receiver
The bright side of Dutch NT is the MB duo who are doing very well, and that's good considering De Kruijf and Belien's departure. Anne Buijs is offensively good but reception is way too unstable. Knollema/Daalderop and Savelkoel are good options, but a Grothues type of player is very welcome.
The main problem is the opposite position. Plak looks like she doesn't want to be there and never found her 2016-2019 form again, and Dambrink seems to be a one day fly. Schoot was fantastic last year's VNL but this year it's pretty awkward, and Bongaerts isn't very good either. Selinger is too stubborn to give Dijkema some chances with direct substitution.
End of roast. The match against Japan keeps my hopes up because the team really showed the potential is still there

Just relax, when Yuan made the comment about Turkiye being a nice training session for her I was a little taken aback but she was right lol and she got the last laugh, not everything is so deep. Not to get too philosophical but the loud, outspoken ones are rarely the most evil ones anyway... It's just a game, these players don't even keep the grudges y'all keep sometimes.

Meanwhile, I like this six of Turkey. With Meryem, Turkey can play way faster and it makes life easier for Hande and Tugba. Also well done Hande, last time she played this good was olympic qualifications I think. I am surprised she was that fired up because she is usually a calm and nice girl. Must be something between her and Buijs from set 2.
Losing Canada in a not so important match was good. At least it was not like losing to Korea in olympics, better here than later.
I love the dutch middles and their connection with Bongaerts. At Netherlands' side, they should find a solution to replace Buijs-Jasper duo and somehow bring back the good old Schoot.

Buijs was great yesterday, there’s no reason to not starting with her today. If there’s a reason to play with Japser, she and Schoot should be able to cover Buijs at reception, but it didn’t happen and Buijs still had to receive most of the serves. What’s worse was among the few serves Jasper received, quite a number of them weren’t good passes, and some were very tight to the net that Bongarets couldn’t even set.

I agree, she should be used instead of Jasper who adds nothing to the game. Bad reception, the Dutch Meliha in attack and defense wasn't great either today (normally much better). Since the team will not finish in top 8 it's a good opportunity to give Knollema more experience. Without an OPP, Buijs is needed on court and therefore Selinger should find a way to cover for her reception
