Display MorePlot Twist: Serbia consider Final 8 as a safe placement. Both Santarelli and the players mentioned this indirectly several times in pre-tournament interviews.
Don't get me wrong, they are playing solid, give great fight, but I think there will be a lot more tension and exictment than they can imagine. Especially if Santarelli continues to experiment with Mirkovic.
I actually like that Santarelli roatates the players as much as possible (except middles). Mirkovic just shouldn't be in rotation at all, lol. Unfortunatelly we already know that Živković will be out for tournament in Brazil and Canada, at least Jakšić will be there, she should be full starter, can't be worse than this.
Thailand played really great, and that is definitely the main factor in their victory, Serbia could not have done much better than this in this line up, i don't want to repeat but the main problem on this side was Mirkovic and the fact that we do not have a reliable player in this team who will bring point in decisive moments (like Bjelica was yesterday).

She has a one year old son, she already said that she will play just on tournament which is played "near" Belgrade. Antonijevic is retired from national team obviously, didn't want to be Maja back up, didn't play since 2018 VNL.
