I've been impressed with Brionne Butler.
6-0-8, 3 blocks.
She's coming for you Brazil

its such a crime that the "ceremony" for the gold medal was in front of no one
Much better crowd tonight. I think that Tuesday was probably just not going to be big draw, right after a major holiday.
They had done some local TV a couple of weeks ago to tell people that the VNL would be in town. Plus have people options of single game versus full weekend packages.

so why is it hosted there? Do USAV exec relatives live there or something?

idk.
I would bet Shreveport paid all of the hosting fees

I don't get how so many people watch NCAA vb but the crowd is like 100 for national team events.

well, being university affiliated helps. Also helps people actually know about those games (with such affiliation)
USAV puts events in freaking Shreveport... which 1) isn't a volleyball hotbead (Lincoln is small... but has a lot of fans) 2) not easy to get to.... you can fly into Dallas... but you have to drive there
does anyone notice, pornpun is not on the list of best setters?

ankara nonscoring stats are so effed up. BEL-SRB match setting stats both with 43 sets total. They’re also punishing dig errors too much as well.
GER - POL will be a hard duel as before this competition, the loser will be far behind, only the winner can stay in contact to the qualification places...

even from New Orleans, the largest city in the state, it was still like 3 hours driving as well.
USAV got paid by the the Convention Visitor’s Bureau to bring it there. Plus with the Olympic win, and hosted in the same city, it was not a hard sell to make it go there. However, in the future, big cities, bigger arenas.
the quirky thing about the states is that you do have a number of 10,000+ seat arenas in smaller college towns. I mean VNL in Honolulu would be full for either sex, but you’d better do that on the way to Asia or the last week of the three because to fly to Europe is a nightmare from there.
Display MoreToo Bad Ana Cristina didnt make the difference today. Happy because Zé gives tô her enough court time. She Will bê the best Brazilian attacker in near time.
Kisy doing what i expected for her. Hope Lorrayna comes to the party instead Lorenne.
Julia Bergman was good today.
When she played in VNL for the fisrt time she was só Green. She evolved a Lot in USA. Julia Bergman and Ana Cristina in near Future Will bê a wild duo.
For the match vs USA maybe Carol will partner with Mayany for MB?
Macris
Mayany, Carol
Julia B, Ana C
Kisy
Natinha?

Six wins will probably get you into the top 8. Turkey should finish in the top 8, in my mind, so if you win half your matches you should have a shot. Germany right now with the extra match played compared to others around them, need to finish at 2-2 for this week to keep them in the running for the Finals.
those 5 set losses are helpful, but losing a 2-0 lead, and losing against Japan could keep them out. 7 teams, already with 2 wins, and outside of Italy all have at least +4 sets won, while Germany is at 0. Italy only being +2 would possibly fall behind Germany with Italy loss and Germany 3-0, 3-1 win on points or sets ratio.
Suprisingly or maybe not, but Ajcharaporn is the weakest link in Thailand. She is nor effective in attack as she used to be nor stable on reception.
Playing, in club season, as full time opposite effect probably.
Oh my Thatdao 🙁

What happens? I just saw them take her out... Ankle?

She collided badly with the libero, her back hip was hit, looked painful from the replay

Her back came in force against libero when they were both going for a dig. So she either hurt her back, hip or chest, hard to see. I hope she is okay, so important for thailand team aswell.
