We know Mayu Ishikawa is good at digging and setting, and she also has a very decent jump serve and spike, but at 22-17 in the set 3, she made a monster block as well !

I saw your post in other thread and thought you just spelled it wrong but now I see what you're doing
Really good serves. Like Acerina Fedorovtseva.

haha she didn't get up real fast after that She actually looked a little stunned
I can only imagine how strong that hit was She's going to be a little soldier after this, no doubt
-
I laughed when Yoshino finally got an ace! She had 6 service errors out of 9 attempts before that one. Finally!

The way that Airi picked that ball out of the net that came off Fukudome's face ... that's the kind of thing I think Airi contributes. She seems aware of the floor and has quick reflexes. Maybe try her at libero next

Hopefully they don't go up against Netherlands next. The Dames might be inconsistent but they know exactly how to make Japan fall apart.

Netherlands is their next opponent It's 2nd vs 3rd (of the other pool), for the 1st match. Japan is 2nd and Netherlands will finish 3rd in their pool regardless of the result of the ongoing game

Just look at US who finished 2nd in their pool, it's DR Poland Turkey Thailand so the order of 3 4 1 2 in the other side, in other words, yes, they are facing netherlands, then puerto rico, italy, belgium.
Thailand is the same, facing CAN GER SRB USA.

So it's pretty unclear if all results from group stage are carried over to the next round, or only results between teams that advance carry over to the next round. And it already makes a difference - Japan would be above Brazil if all results are carried over, and below Brazil if only results between advancing teams carry over.

Is she KRob good to convert to lib? I skipped this match

no lol

Only those W-L of qualified are carried over, so Japan moved to 3rd in the pool (2nd over Brazil if all). Schedules are out and that means, they are facing Belgium first not Netherlands.

She's far from a promising young talent. Someone I wouldn't mind getting dropped by next year. Ameze can stay.

Belgium match is incredibly important to start 2nd round with a win. Belgium will be chasing them the rest of the round. Japan loss and Belgium would have to lose twice to give Japan hope and then a possible upset of Italy.
Japan can get three wins, Belgium, Netherlands and Puerto Rico. That will put them in the quarterfinals. -
Yoshino 🤦🏻♂️
