Poor Karch, he shouldn't have supported to JT for injury issue. I always had a doubt on that, and now this, what sort of behaviour is this?
I think the universe believes that Cuttino having a medal or Pri Daroit having a gold medal would be too much. That's why we both flopped in the end.
I'm just kidding.

(is this a mistranslation) what do you mean?

I didn't your post cuz it was deleted, about why JT was not be with team at WCH. that was unforgivable you say, I dont understand her motivation and also behaviour.
Second, about JT's previous injury, Karch spoke about it like "over there (Eczacıbaşı), she was not treated well for recovery and she should leave the and come back US for treatment", Even Karch was supported to her (an I think Karch was always rooting and investing her) and after all this, she was acting like that, yes it is totally unforgivable.
P.S. Nothing to blame Eczacıbaşı about this injury incident.

It wasn't even the same injury that had happened at Tokyo/made a mess with Eczacibasi.
It was a head injury. Which knowing the timeline now, I'm 90% sure is this, from this tiktok
She wasn't treated well at Eczacibasi. And this isn't really relevant to what happened here.

IDK I think he was talking about Tokyo one when I was reading this
That "head injury" was important that much? I never seen or heard anything about that on season period
I dont understand "wasnt treated well" story. She was injured at OG, she had time for starting recovery, What should Eczacıbaşı be done for her extra? She played a very little time period, there was almost no room for her to play because of foreign player policy.

ok we're talking about different things lol
Karch is talking about the tokyo injury in that post yes.
I was talking about the injury that kept her out of the WCH. (the head injury)
(the whole Eczacibasi mess is another story and its been said enough on here lol)

I was found them and read them just now (I wasn't in there that time idk what was talking about that)... yeah highly biased speculations... I agree with other fellas that in this case.
Anyway, I do not want to re-argue this issue. What happened, happened
JT confirmed on IG it was the concussion (And shared a different clip, it wasn't Frantti, but Annie)
I appreciate that they didn't feel the need to rush her knowing now that it was a concussion and not just a simple injury. They probably considered how lousy our blocking has been and how much of a ball magnet her noggin seems to be like..l mean getting wrecked twice (more?) in praccy? Thats cray. We could've fielded a better team but they decided not to chanced it. Another possible concussion so soon after getting cleared would be very devastating.

Hentz went to the Netherlands concussed.
A mess.

How was she able to travel without clearance? That's upsetting. Head injury is not something that should be taken lightly.

recently concussed, sorry
both her and JT were cleared.
JT not being there is another Karchism
they shouldnt rush jt. I mean not saying she should prioritize her club but she needs rest before the league starts. That's her income.
USAV is not focused on World Champs, it is focused on Olympic results. It is where they are focused as players essentially sign up for 4-year windows (this time 3-years due to Covid).
we are complaining about essentially the first year of that 3-year window after having the best year in USAV history in Winning VNL (World GP) and Olympic Gold.
a number of great players retired and newbies have entered to the new group. This was going to be a learning year for some of them.
look at the VNL, losing once in pool play, losing to Serbia 3-2 in quarterfinals without Boskovic in the lineup might be annoying, but looking back at full year, maybe Serbia is really good.
in World champs, the Poland loss was just frustrating, but Poland played well in the tournament in front of their home fans, and the USA just had an off night. Serbia with Boskovic was even stronger than in VNL, and two losses to them did not surprise me. Italy with Egonu still better than USA in 3rd place, not as much of a surprise. Add JT probably closer to winning third.
outside of two losses to Poland and Japan, USA lost to Serbia 3 times this year and Italy once. Who are now #1 and #2 respectively. 2022 results in total 19-6, and 4 losses to teams that are ranked higher than you. In a rebuilding year, that I think is not bad.
to all of the Karch haters, please how many VNL/WGP titles, a World Champ and an Olympic title as a coach does he have? At least one. Quicklist of those with each?
Cuba’s Eugenio Lafita, Russia’s Nikolay Karpol, and Karch. That’s it. Ze Roberto has never won the World Championship. Serbia’s current coach Santarelli only needs Olympic gold to reach this list.
Karch’s way is very different from Karpol, but is he effective getting results and knowing that it is process to get better, yes. Is he going to throw tirades infrequently compared to Karpol, yes. Still he is a great volleyball mind and has changed strategy and seen it work, double subs helped win the 2014 World Championships. It was not used as frequently, as still kind of isn’t, but he’ll try stuff, not out of desperation but because of strategy.
USAV is not focused on World Champs, it is focused on Olympic results
This goes for every major federation in the world.
Exactly. That's what I saw too. That on top of SWP only playing in the final round and being a 'serve specialist' otherwise, makes me wonder what the hell is happening in the Usa team.
moving this here, so the A1 thread isnt derailed.
but honestly who knows, other than its karch being karch. or kumbaya lol
SWP got 2019 Kim Hill'ed.
Is Butler already in Chieri?
Is Butler already in Chieri?
yea, she's just not starting. Mazzaro and Weitzel are. I was a little surprised, but both of them are way more experienced than her so it makes sense
