A better, more stable performance this time. Suffice to say that if the reception is good, good things can follow ie. settting, hitting etc.
No setters are perfect (Pornpun comes close) and it’s the same with Ding Xia, but imo, she is a much better setter than Diao. And it’s not just superior setting skills...she communicates with her team mates a lot more and is quite a live wire in the court.
Predictions? With this year’s VNL it’s case of predicting at your own peril ! even with the top teams, it really depends on their form on the day.

I think I seen some people say she's back in China already, but idk if it's true.
Regarding Zhu's return, it seems WCH is the goal, but I would still be cautious. Let her play some sets and help her catch up to game speed in order to see where she's at physically and how the wrist is adjusting. The wrist is a sensitive area and even after a successful surgery I would keep a close eye on it especially since it's going to be target for other teams.

Same! China without her (and baobao) lack a bit of that firepower. We see some exciting hits from GXY & LYY but not nearly enough… JY & WYL are poor attackers and are B-tier at best. China is at A- tier right now IMHO.
I wouldn’t want to see Zhu play this WCH though… Let the NT figure out what to do without her & ZCN, and give them some time off. In my experience those who’ve been threatened by injury tend to come back with a vengeance 😂 So I really want ZT & ZCN to be well rested physically and emotionally!

Taking post-game thoughts as usual!!
Mine:L: we got to see more NFF today, and she did OK. I think she performed marginally better than WWY has but, nothing amazing
OH:LYY - So many errors today…
JY - she did ok…?
WYL - I think she wasn’t at 100% today, and was panting pretty heavily at certain points after being subbed on. Her ball control is still good but she will be slaughtered by the USA’s block tomorrow…
S: Ding did decently well today and we got to see a 丁接应 hit!!!! I think there weren’t very many high impact falls she had to take so… good?OPP: I was hoping to see CPY today (she looks HELLA cool in person, like she walks with SWAGGER) but GXY is well rounded and reliable as always
MB: More successful sets to the middle than the previous match, so I’m optimistic that they’re improving at least? I think YXY isn’t in form yet - inaccurate, sloppy hits.I can’t believe they gave Canada a set…….. They cannot afford to fall asleep mid game and USA/Japan will make them pay. I wouldn’t be surprised if they lost 3-0 for the following games
