Serbian Women's NT 2022

  • I don't watch much domestic league or junior competitions other than what little they put on youtube, so can either of you give me a breakdown on Kurtagic? What do you think is her ceiling and what are her strengths and weaknesses? I'm aware she is a very driven young girl, very ambitious.

You don't need to watch junior competitions to watch Kurtagic. She is best blocker of our super league. Literally blocking machine. This is her strength, she can make big difference.

Weakness, she is still young and don't have strong swing for attack. This is one of the reasons why is Osmajic more complete middle at the moment.

Her biggest strengths are her body (height, athletic, long arms, solid cordination) and pure blocking skills. Her biggest weaknesses is court moving (especially in transition) and attacking timing, also she usually doesn't look fluent. Reminds me on Hristina Vuchkova, similar technique and style of player, but Hena have a lot of time to improve her weaknesses and become all around star MB.

Minja Osmajic made a great improvment during this 2 years (since EuroVolley u19 2020) in Jedinstvo, under Caković, next year could be her year of revelation. With our current MB line, next years should be really competitive for making a NT roster on this position.

  • Malesevic improved a lot too in last 6 months.

Bogdan can you imagine how good will Osmajic and Hurtagic be (with their blocking skills) if they can reach spiking power of Veronika Djokic. :win:

  • Can you imagine that just a few years after the retirement of 2 such legends as Rasic and Veljkovic (neither of them very old, for modern sport) we could be in a real dilemma to pick the top 3 MBs among at least as many good-to-great options for Paris?:white::drink:

    'knock on wood

Djokic is such an explosive attacker, i really like her, i'm so happy that she is moving to Potsdam, she can challenge both Savic (and Cekulaev by quality, but she is domestic player) for starting spot there.

  • What are Andjela Veselinović and Andrea Tišma like?

  • What are Andjela Veselinović and Andrea Tišma like?

Andjela Veselinovic had great start of the season. 2x MVP against Olympiakos in the battle for the champions league. Than she had injury right before 1st match against Conegliano so she didn't have time to impress Santarelli. She was Injured for 4 months so she didn't manage to comeback in starting 6 again. But she played a lot in final against Crvena Zvezda. For sure better than Jaksic and Djordjevic.

Andrea Tisma is very young. I only watched her in junior completions, she play in Zurich. Basically she is good, tall, have nice serve and good block. She also love to attack a lot for a setter, left handed. But she kinda struggled under pressure in big matches, and kinda slow setter.

Oh she will play, just wait for them to see her slide attack.

Cekulaev had great VNL season, Potsdam really don't need to worry for a MB for a couple of years.

  • What are Andjela Veselinović and Andrea Tišma like?

Andjela Veselinovic have really nice technique, it was a "crime" that she isn't called before Jaksic and Djordjevic (both last and this year). Her biggest weakness is conservative style of playing with wings, in some moments becomes boring and predictable, she can make her struggling a lot, but also in her good days she can make her team shine, like volleysrb mentioned CL matches againsr Olympiacos (

    )

Her connection and setting abilities to middles are amazing though.

I don't like Tisma, i mean in consideration of NT future, but everything said by volleysrb stand.

I've repeated it several times here, but I don't know if it coincided with the period

your inactivity, as far as setters are concerned, I expect the most

by Rada Perovic. I am impressed with her technique and softness, although there is a lot of room for improvement.

  • Which of the 5 OHs will drop do you guys think? I think it will be battle between Lazovic and Milenkovic.

This is hardest question ever. I don't want to be in Santarelli skin when he need to make decision.

But yes, if Brankica stay healthy it will probably be Lazovic or Milenkovic.

Or maybe some risky move going on WCh with 3 MBs.

Also is option to register Lazovic as libero for the list. And on matches 4th MB to be registered as libero and Lazovic as OH.

  • Probably true.

This is very specific WCh(with new rules), literally we only care about USA, and USA only care about us. And Bojana is needed for this match.

it’s a shame. I like Lazović but Bojana is a rock out there and her and lozo are our best duo to play imo

  • I think Santarelli will risk it with 3 MBs, and write off Kocic. But if he writes off one of the OHs, I hope he won't repeat Terzic's mistake of leaving Lazovic behind (even if the latter plays worse than last year).

  • Easy first win in Balkan Championship. 13/14 players given good amount of time for play. Only Zubic stayed on bench, but she played a lot in eyof.
