Germany NT 2022

  • Kelsey played libero because USA didnt have one and they had too many OHs.

Bock as an OH was a disaster. I can understand why she maybe wants to make it happen.... but it shouldnt.

I wouldn't call it a disaster but I agree that she is not a competitive OH at the moment. She is still young so maybe she can develop. Apparently she will play the next season as OH as well (which I don't understand...but in an interview Waibl once said, that she prefers to be an OH). In my eyes she would be an amazing libero in near future but maybe just a mid-level OH...

  • Don't know where to put it, but Louisa Lippmann will move to beach volleyball!

  • 19-2-40 from Stigrot? we love to see that

I enjoy her reception stats even more than her attack stats actually. IMO she should play as receiving OPP in all rotations and Orthmann should be completely out of reception. Stigrot has grown the most of all the girls who went to Italy last season! :flower:

  • German team is on its way to USA, of course no info yet about the roster. However I'm pretty sure that it will be the 14 players from the Poland matches, so from the media day roster Sarah Straube, Laura Emonts and Lea Ambrosius are out. If Heynen intends to use Bock as reception sub he will have to use either the 4th MB or one of the OHs as official 2nd libero.

The Communication from the Federation is a only Desaster

  • The Communication from the Federation is a only Desaster

Yes, the communication is not good, there is no professional person at the DVV who takes care of the important task of communication in the media and in the social media. As far as one hears, this is also a question of money. As René Hecht told Volleyball Magazin, the association was on the verge of insolvency for a long time.

So we will continue to depend on the work of volunteers. Maybe one of you would offer to help the association in communication by doing the communication work around the clock?

Just curious, how can they have money to hire Heynen if they’re on the verge of insolvency for a long time?

His contract is only is part-time since he's also working as club coach, and I guess out of old friendship with German federation he accepted working for a rather low salary. Probably for him the challenge to work with a female NT was enough as reason to do it.

  • DVV confirmed that the roster for week 1 is the same as for the friendly matches with Poland.

    S: Kästner, Glaab

OH/OPP: Hippe, Janiska, Alsmeier, Vanjak, Orthmann, Stigrot

    MB: Schölzel, Weitzel, Strubbe, Cekulaev

    L: Pogany, Bock (also OH)

No info yet if the team will remain the same for the whole VNL or if there will be changes for the later weeks.

  • I was very surprised Heynen let Bock play as OH in the last match...

Straube is most likely not with them because the "Abitur" exams start this week.
