Italy - Serie A1 2022/23

  • For the next season women teams will face playoffs to qualify for Challenge cup (the teams partecipating will be the teams placed from 9 to 12 in regular season plus the teams that will lose during quarterfinals)

It also says there will be no more foreign limitations as well as there will not be the "two per federation" rule:

There will be no more limit to the total number of foreigners on bench, but there will still be the limit of maximum 4 foreigners on court.

  • Who are they going to play as main OHs of Scandicci?Pietrini and...???

Mingardi, given how much they are stressing the fact that she can also play as OH...

  • the CEO of Novara is mad about the foreigner rule change lol

“We have explained that we will accept the new regulation, but we ask that all companies be placed on the same level, with equal treatment. And that is, that the new rule comes into force at least from January, that is, from the first market window to the current season. Because otherwise the clubs that have already closed the transfer market would be at a disadvantage ”.

    lmaoooo the irony....

“Igor, like many other companies, is not a“ St. Patrick's Well ”, there is a budget that must be respected. Of course, we could have made different choices, changed strategies, even if the foreign exchange market currently does not offer great opportunities "

    ok novara lol

  • But they are right. Teams could done different transfers with this new rule.

I know. But it’s still hypocritical of Novara to be complaining about “level playing fields” when they’re out there poaching players on January from the smaller teams.

also they chose Adams over Washington 🤣🤣 they don’t get any sympathy for that

That's exactly what they are complaining about ... Since back then there weren't these ideas in the air, they moved accordingly. Also Chieri and Scandicci agree with them that one can't change the rules with market ongoing because the only some teams could benefit from this. Everyone should start the market with the same possibilities.

but that’s also inherently unfair. Novara/Imoco/Vakifbank can start their market whenever they like because they have more money than everyone else. They get first go at whatever players they want.

This should just be grounds for creating windows when they’re allowed to converse/sign with players.

I know, and I'm not excusing that, but that was not a change mid-way.

I agree that fixed windows for transfers and new rules should be applied for everyone but form an established day (not mid season or at the end of the leagues). Possibly form next year so that managements can decide their strategy and not start with advantage (or disadvantage)

  • ...and the last spot goes to Macerata:win:

Their libero Giulia Bresciani is a specialist of promotion from A2 to A1. Last year she got promoted to A1 with Vallefoglia, in 2018 with Chieri and in 2015 with Bolzano. I hope she will be confirmed in A1 with Macerata, she deserves it.

And Macerata is also the team of Francesca Michieletto (Alessandro's sister). She also plays as OH and is left handed like her brother. I'm not sure she could be a starter in A1, but maybe ok as a backup.

I don't even think she would be that great as backup to be honest. She saved most of the talent for her younger brother :rolll:

Anyways she also plays beach and was one of the candidates for the federation team, I'm not sure if that's still going on but if so I guess she would retire soon from indoors
