  • Hey Himeji are the future

Hey! Everyone's got cheerleaders now. Thank gosh the squorts didn't catch on. Saitama tried them and failed miserably

  • Airi is the future. Probably. I can't vouch for her growth since I've only seen 2 games

Airi has made massive strides. Her jump is springier and her swing is harder

I don't know if you remember KRob last year. She couldn't handle the Japanese floors, couldn't jump and swang weakly until winter break. She got injections in her knees and came out a whole new person. I think same thing happening with Airi. Tugba to a certain extent

I just wish Airi would put her hair down and tell us what that thing on her leg is all about

  • I liked the whole double libero thing with Toe and Nishimura. Honestly why didn't Sakai bring her out earlier like during the JT match???? anyway saw plenty of fans who tweeted that she should make the NT. No objections here.

Nishimura was part of the legendary 2019 U20 squad, played a couple Asian Championships too, as defensive specialist tho, not straight up libero. Schooled in Okayama defense

You mean when KRob had that wobbly MB jump whenever she spiked. That was weird. I don't think she ever quite got it.

What do you mean by that thing on her leg? A tattoo?

    This cast thing she wears

It's a bit of a late call. No one was expecting her but she stole the show this weekend. Didn't miss any balls. The conversion to libero is a good call otherwise she'd just end up like Shirasawa.

  • This cast thing she wears

i think that's just leg compression sleeves but she wore it higher and added a knee brace over it like what basketball players use

its not this type cos i know this shit is hard to jump in it literally squeezes the leg but maybe something like that

She's always been a libero, but she had a serve too, and growing up in Okayama she played the 'universal' thing given their libero overabundance. Kawamoto let her swing a bit but that's not her thing. And 168cm isn't going to take you far -- or Saki Tanaka would make NT :rose:

Even in the U20 games, where everybody was so good, she brougt a sense of calm, "we got this" to the proceedings. Us annoying Okayama fans have appreciated her for years :)

Airi needs to talk to Miyu and tell her that's a thing and stop over bandaging her legs with tape

    My question is:

    Preventative of rehabilitative?

That shot is from beginning of the year, so she's always worn it. I can't remember if she wore it with NT ... looking into whether she wore in at Minnesota

I'm no expert but I used that type of brace for rollerskating don't judge me lmao. It's a shock brace but it goes really tight on the legs which would make it hell for a volleyball player to move around in much less jump wearing that kind of brace. There could be a different type that allows more mobility but I don't know.

  • I just checked and Airi wore that thing in the Friendly match against PHI last June. I can't remember what real NT matches she dressed for but it appears she's always worn it

    update

    Here she is with Minnesaota

  • I'm 90% sure it's this
