CEV U17 European Championship 2022

  • This tournament is taking place in Czech Republic, not much info in cev page or any streaming but they are gonna stream the final round in their youtube channel

Italy win 3-1 from Poland and best placed in their pool, gonna meet germany in semi finals

    Adigwe player is so good

  • i was reading the note that italy win from poland and finish 1st on their pool

I asked how it was possible as they lose 0-3 against turkey and i knew turkey beat poland who was the other hard team

Then i search and see turkey lose 3-0 against slovenia

  • If Czechia is the host, they have livestreams in volej.tv but their replays only seem to be those from the last two days.

Yeah thank you i enter and was watching the italy vs poland match

  • It's unusual to see a German team getting a good result at youth level, but I suppose having a Grozer is never wrong 8)

Yeah i watch the german team in u18 wch in 2015 they were so good that even beat china 3-0 with yy li

From that team.kastner and orthman are in NT

Yes turkey had very weird results they won against Italy and Poland but played tiebreak against last places Finland at first day of tournament and lost to Slovenia unexpectedly.

This youth Turkish team is playing similar to senior NT indeed, middle blockers are the most scorers of the team with a inconsistent strong Opp. Outsides again doesn't seem to be convincing. Best outside Safranova is not here. Also Ceylan Kuyan, twin sister of Ceylin Kuyan, is missing. Bianka Mumcular was a great MB but unfortunately she switched her position to opp and so far she is having an inconsistent tournament. On the other hand, Defne Basyolcu who was supposed to be next future star from this generation is sitting on the bench. By the way, libero Esepasa is daughter of ex NT libero Necla Esepasa.

In last couple of generations, it was always TUR-ITA-SRB-RUS playing semis. In the absence of Russia, it is nice to see Germany as medal contender.👏

Serbia, Italy and Turkey are predicting the podium (no order), although maybe Germany will surprise in the match against Italy, but I doubt it.

I am worried about this match with Serbia, because our team is playing too unevenly and yes our MB looks very good, but we do not get too much from MB alone, and here they have to connect OH and OPP, Bianka has a very wavy tournament, and Liza Safron is missing here ~ I have I hope I'm wrong

    Begüm Kaçmaz :flower:<3

  • I would rather italy face serbia in final (if they win their sf) than turkey

Cause if i'm not wrong turkey beat italy in u16 last year and this year

    Italy have problems with them

  • It's unusual to see a German team getting a good result at youth level, but I suppose having a Grozer is never wrong 8)

But I fear, the Italian team will defeat the German in the semis in a devastating manner - they have so many more good players and they are so much better educated at this age...

  • I think that Bulgaria is the team that must regret that they are not in the fight for medals. I think this bulgarian generation is pretty strong, and many of you will see that soon.Follow in the future for Maritza player Iva Dudova. Bulgaria's loss from Germany was unexpected from me but maybe next championship these girls will have more chances.Despite the standings this time i firmly stand by my words that this Bulgarian team is the third strongest in Europe in this age group after Italy and Serbia. From Turkey team for exemple, i think these girls have only wins.

  • 1st semi being played right now:

Grozer plays a lot like her dad actually  But it's good that she plays as receiving OPP, with her height she might have better chances as OH than as OPP in the future. German MBs are tragic (as usual, must be a German tradition) but the rest of the team is decent. Italy is on a whole different level though of course.

  • I thought that the Germans would bet more, but the match for the stake is something completely different :wavy:

  • i like this new concept in italian team

A strong player (opp or oh) that kills thr ball but now the team is not dependant on that player, she's a complement

  • Turkiye doesn't look complete without Safranova and Kuyan but I hope they pull this! Missing Russia is a huge letdown for CEV tournaments, the finals are so predictable nowadays, just not as competitive.
