  • The new V. League will start with the men's division. The new vice chairman is also planning to have a competition like CEV's that's different from AVC. I'm thinking maybe they will revive the old Montreux Masters but with a club category.

do they really have the budget to start by next year with the vnl and grand prix happening in japan? or is that purely the money from the combined teams in the men's division?

I don't know the specifics. Almost all of the articles regarding the new chairman focuses on his experience in the sports industry. One thing I do know for sure is that they're expanding their network to align with their goals for the new league.

I'm trying not to expect too much from this new league. I can completely understand what they're trying to do for the men's division since the impact of men's volleyball is massive. They have an extremely solid fanbase in Japan and all over the world, they have the full advantage of popularity and exposure. That cannot be said for the girls and even worse if Koga decides to retire after Paris and the only remaining popular player is Mayu.

  • Yuji Nishida was injured for four times in three years.

The problem remains that do teams have enough money to invest into new league. Otherwise, no matter how V.League organization wants changes, things are the same when you have no investment.

  • I still don't understand why they open a position for Asian players. Do they want to sell TV rights to those countries? Look at the list, it won't help to increase the competitive level of the KOVO league.

In fact, the "problem" of the volleyball of South Korea is ... "Why didn't Korean players play volleyball so well and they still got more money?"

That's a very stupid question. Korea did it right. Volleyball needs more investment, not less. The Korea Volleyball Federation has been successful in making Korean volleyball players earn a decent living despite Korea being a small country with a small market. Korea runs a very successful volleyball league in terms of marketing and branding.

  • Who knows why Kubiak didn't play the match today?
