USA Women's NT 2023

  • Kiraly will never allow on court an outside that needs to be covered the way Gabi did in the Champions League final. It's actually bad for the USA team, because they have just similar players, no one brings something different on the table. And there's no plan B when the Plan A isn't working.

The exception here might been playing Hentz when KPlummer is on at OH. I agree it’s bad for the USA team to have one player covering another. Not a recipe for long-term success.

And yet he allows Plummer and Frantti. Whose passing is worse among the three of them?

  • Frantti is far better than Bajema at passing. lol

Plummer would be a better passer than Bajema IMHO in normal circumstances (not receiving 50 balls in any game, like she did in the last 2 years).

Plummer's worse passing is made up with better attacking (to Bajema)

Passing: Bajema (but they're both not great)

    Attacking OOS: Plummer

    Serving: Plummer

    Defense: Bajema

    Blocking: Bajema

  • Bajema's passing stats in Italy

    • 2020-21 season: 19,4% out of 387 attempts.

    Plummer's passing stat's in Italy

    • 2021-22 season: 36,2% out of 542 attempts.
    • 2022-23 season: 31,6% out of 649 attempts.

I don't see how Bajema could possibly be better than Plummer at passing. :gone:

  • Actually Bajema was very good in the second half of club season. After she got a chance, she used it very well. If she could play good in first half too, Vakıf would never go for Frantti.

You can't compare TVF and LVF stats.... LVF is way more generous with their definition of good passing.

  • According to the stats from the Italian leauge Plummer , Frantti and Lanier has almost the same numbers in the reception.....

All these players along with Bajema has similar reception . Even their errors are almost the same number.

Also Bajema seems that she has decent reception according to the stats of turkish leauge. I think that statements like Lanier is much better than Plummer or Bajema is better than Plummer has no matter. They are all similar.

I'm not. I'm comparing their stats in Italy. And Plummer receives an insane amount of balls...

I really don't get this trend to overcriticize this girl. I wonder how many OHs could deal with that pressure from the opponents' service...

    Meh.

Alexa Gray received like 500 balls this VNL... and had way more offensive responsibility.

  • 14,97% out of 393 attempts. It's a lot, but nowhere close to Plummer's % (given that Molten ball is easier to receive than Mikasa).

    what?

im talking about the 2023 VNL.

Alexa received 481 balls (which is absurd) and passed 42% positive... next to Hilary Howe and whoever their libero is.

Plummer was 32% on 181 next to KRob/JWO and others.

  • ,

Come on!!!! What do you mean? Plummer is clearly better in reception. She play I think two or three games only and in one of them she received almost 40 times in only three sets !!!! This results is misliandingly.

The thing here is Plummer had Moki and Kelsey holding her hand (quite literally) for passing.

    Khalia had Emma Cagnin lol

  • Just out of curiosity, do you have these stats for all the players? VBW only shows the % of perfect receptions (so Plummer for example is at 13.91% there)

  • USA has too many good OHs, that’s crazy. She was playing CL final as a starter and she is 7th-8th in the line. The worst thing is that Larson will probably go to Paris :gone: She should retire with that gold around her neck and give some chance to other girls. She is a living legend, but not that needed anymore, KRob will do her job.

    a true powerhouse, indeed 😎
