China NT 2023

  • Just finished the replay, Zhu block to win the match. :cheesy:

You can tell she couldn't wait to be back on the floor. Couple occasions she ran far off the court to try and save a ball which made me nervous, but overall she seems to be in good spirits.

i think the setter is intentionally not setting her as often, probably on the coaching staff's orders.

Zhu's reception was solid as a rock (except for that one ace)

Probably going to be like this these first couple matches for her, just let her work her way up. But there's also other options so she doesn't really need to be set that often.

I think her reception is fine. People act like she's super bad at it when in reality there are other OHs worse than her that don't improve their reception throughout a match and eventually have to be pulled out.

  • I doubt in 2023, which ones will be more, the old ones or the new ones?

In theory, Zhuang Yu-shan and so on could be the members of Team A.

However, almost no ones believe Cai Bin could give more chance to more new ones.

  • I'm glad I still got the VBTV subscription, gonna check that match out!!

  • Beyond excited to see Zhu in action! She looked nervous, and was definitely a bit hesitant especially in her blocks , but I’m sure this is just growing pains. Reception was pretty good, defense also fairly decent. Only up from here!

Doesn’t matter old ones or new ones, the best ones should be selected. Is that too much to ask ?!!

If Zhuang Yushan can score with her swings consistently and is in good form then she ought to be Team A, and someone who didn’t perform consistently should give others a chance, and that includes the position of head coach.

Me too! I'd already cancelled it but the subscription was due today, so I didn't miss the match

  • Just watched the match: I came for Zhu Ting but was also impressed by her teammates! Scandicci was dynamic and fast, and her teammates were really great. ZT definitely wasn't like her "fierce lionness" self when she first came onto court, but towards the end of the game, she got more comfortable and into the flow and wasn't so uptight and overly-cautious anymore.

The thing about injuries is that while they are physical, the after-effects are purely mental and emotional. She can definitely overcome this obstacle, it just takes time and determination and she'll be back to being that super pasisonate player we know :drink::heart:

P/S: I love that the MVP (?) award is two bottles of wine :lol:

  • idk if she's just being cautious or if there's still some discomfort, but I noticed when she celebrates and claps hands with her teammates her right hand (the one she had operation on) she keeps as a fist while the other is open.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if Liu Yanhan goes to AU. She doesn't seem the type to want to move to a competitive team, but rather want to boost her popularity status. Wasn't she doing social media stuff this past summer?

Yuan should've been abroad this year then.
