If Villani could work with Sylla the results could be great . For me the OH in the main roster should be Sylla , Bosetti, Villani and Omoruyi ( or Pietrini instead of Omoruyi if she find her good shape)

Good thing Pietrini didn't join them right now but I also hope she will be back to better form soon
-
Villani, returning after an injury, is really playing a very solid match and is holding up very well in reception...
for now whoever is totally missing is Danesi...
But I don't think mazzanti will ever replace her, unless she starts to combine disasters...
You are 100% correct
Danesi has one of her worst game ever tonight, only 5 pts in all 5 sets and zero block on the net. Putting Zero pressure for the opponent. Mazzanti didn't even try to change that.
-
I don't think Pietrini wants to represent Italy in the global stage
-
Well considering that this one is Italy B/C against Brazil A (minus AC), a 3-2 is a good achievement. Out of this Italian team only Bosio, Danesi, Fersino plus one of the OHs will be in the main 14, with only Danesi and Fersino as possible starters.
actually this italian team is really good, for me only big miss is egonu
fersino is not MDG but good player
bosio and viliani had better season than orro/silly, or arguably better
and i dont know who will be 2nd middle at ech, mazzaro(good today) or fahr

I think you may ave just answered my lingering question of whether Hawkeye "sees" the ball compression or computes it. I believe you are saying it computes it (ball started this high, traveling at this speed, falling at this angle, boom, voila!)
It's the "compression", actually a recorded path from different angles that is combined into one 3D image which we see as final result.
I was referring more to the development of sophisticated cameras, sensors and algorithms that are the core of this system.

I think in the mind of Mazzanti Pietrini is locked, unless she doesnt want to. I'm sad for Nwakalor tbh, she's had a good tournament so far and has helped Italy a lot but doesn't stand that much of a chance against Antropova.

I'm over Nwakalor. She does more harm than good for the team. There are better options than her at this point

Lol. I mean what happened in the club season is really that important? Sylla didnt have a good season and she's the main reason Italy won against China and went 4-0 in week 2. Pietrini never had outstanding club season and yet she almost always performed well in NT.
Probably Mazzaro will be including now that there are rumors that Chirichella won't be on the ECH list.

Lol shes the top scorer of Italy and also Italy's best blocker (yeap over Danesi and Mazzaro) of this VNL, what else do you want? Comparing her to Egonu is unfair.

Considering that I expected Brazil to sweep us, enjoying another tie-break was frustrating and satisfying at the same time. This VNL group may be not very talented, but they started to fight after a sloppy Week 1. I do wonder if the outcome could have been different if the Sylla (I hope her injury is not too serious) we saw in Week 2 would have shown up.
For a purely competition-wise viewpoint, this loss badly affects our chances to make it to the Final Round. We're basically walking on thin ice now and even winning out may not be sufficient. Not that it makes a real difference, but I would be happy for the girls if they'll qualify. It would be a nice reward for them after all.

her jump is insane. she's young. she'll get better
-
I thought Villani was very good today! I can definitely see her snatching one of the OHs spots for the ECH.
-
Bošković performance today in set 1 vs China was beyond super human. She was absolutely destroying the ball but also played defense like Gabi digging some bombs and picking up tips all over the court. Just such a wonderfully complete and powerful monster ahaha

She was surprisingly good, considering she hasn't played in over a month (friendly matches in Lanciano if I'm not wrong). She'll never be a superstar but I think that these years she has spent in Chieri with Bregoli were really helpful for her.
-
I’m afraid if Poland decides to throw to Germany to exclude us
It doesn't make many sense for Poland. Germany is right behind in world ranking so the win with them is important. Furthermore, even if Serbia will make it to F8 it will be most likely from 8th place and Poland is not in the first place in table.
-

I wouldn't count on it. She has lot of opportunity in club and in NT these few years, but she never has a breakthrough. She has very limited technique.....her incredible physicality can only get her so far.
Not saying she is bad, just Italy has way better Opp material now. No space for her in NT anymore.

Honestly I think she did well but sueprhuman is going far. This win was all about Maja. She showed today she still got it. In fact, China was able to slow down Boskovic in some crucial points but they couldn't kill any ball.

Not to forget there is a rivalry of Poland and Germany in this sports for many years, so both teams will fight hard.
