Netherlands NT 2023

  • A well deserved break for her, but we will miss her a lot and especially her offensive power. I am glad she didn't say goodbye for good, but I think her potential comeback depends on participation in Paris 2024. I am not very surprised by her decision since she gave some indications already after the world championships. I am curious who will be the new captain. Hoping it will be Dijkema, Bongaerts or Schoot

  • I'm not suprised with her discision and I think she deserves the break! She gave it her all last few years:) On the other hand, she could have been real important for OQT. I think there is no option who can replace her immediately... If Daalderop was in good shape, I would have been worried a bit less, but we all know she isn't at her best?(

For the new position as captain, Bongaerts is my clear choice! She is a good teamplayer and one of the most experience. If knip will play for NT again, she could be another good option. Dijkema and Schoot shouldn't be part of the team anymore IMO. Especially Dijkema, since she isn't playing well and van Aalen has a good season!

  • Koslowski announced the longlist for this summer:

  • I think netherlands have a lot of talent in oh,setter and specially MB fepartment but in opp and libero well

  • Looks like the torn ACL diagnosis for Fleur Savelkoel has been confirmed now ;( Together with Buijs taking a break this will cause some trouble for Dutch NT.

I think Koslowski should consider calling Annick Meijers instead, but rather as OPP. She has been doing quite well on that position in Dresden's recent matches, from my impression with more practise she can be a better OPP than Scholten and Mulder.

    Nooooo

After you mentioned Meijers I found out she isn't even on the longlist for the NT. I don't think she would be a serious contender for a starting spot, but not even on the longlist is also a a bit strange. Maybe with the injury Koslowski will add one more player. (But perhaps she isn't available for the NT at all)

I am not familiar enough with Scholten/Mulder/Meijers to decide who would be the best option. But they are all the same age, so Koslowski could just invite them for a training week and pick the best 🤷‍♂️I do know however that Scholten was the best scorer many times this season, but I am not too sure if mid level Bundesliga is comparable with international level. She didn't really show it last year in VNL

Anyway, how's Dambrink doing in Schwerin? She doesn't get to see the court a lot right? A bit worrying because I don't trust Plak to be the killer opposite we need

  • Felix probably doesn’t know she exists but he should consider calling Laura Jansen. She did well in the ncaa and will probably play in France next year

Mullhouse or Venelles no? She isn't on the longlist but someone in the federation should know she exists

Speaking about Dutch in the USA: is Van der Mark still playing? (Not that she should be called, just curious lol)

  • Yvon Belien ends his volleyball career
