    The rumors of Inoue and Shibata signing with Himeji is already floating around as early as April, so negotiations possibly happened before they are relegated to Div 2. They were a Division 1 team last season. VLeague will be revamped next year and they will be part of the V1/Main League, so it's also a good preparation.


    Himeji is also like NT Coach Manabe's team. Manabe used to be the team owner / GM of this team from the start and only stepped down recently when he came back as Japan NT's Head Coach, iirc. I would think he is still kind of having influence in this team as Himeji signed 2 players Manabe included in the NT before their announcement of NT wide roster (Airi Miyabe last year then Angie Gromos this year).

    Actually they are trying to develop volleyball there. Two years ago they didn't have a league. Last season they played with 4 teams and mostly young local players.

    Starting this season they have 6 teams and a lot of foreign players. Their goal is to have 8 teams in the league and be back in champions league.
