Japan Women's NT 2023

  • The other thing about Uni-setters, specifically Matsui and Mandai, is they played fast, and in great quantity with their middles. Nakagawa didn't play that fast middle game in Uni either. Mandai used her middles so much one of them won both best spiker and high scorer award. That's crazy

I'm starting to worry myself :/

    Which university is Matsui from?

    JWCPE

  • I have a somewhat irrational dislike for Aya Watanabe ever since I noticed that she and Nozomi Kanemoto never got along. She and Osanai are quite similar as offensive players but even if the chances are slim if they had to choose between the 2 I hope its Osanai.

im not sure what it is either but she's not really likeable. anyway watanabe is forever b team she was never a threat. different positions but i would much rather have tominaga join their camp than her if we're talking older players that can "guide" the youngins

  • Has Manabe said anything about his expectations of Angelina? (other than she's there cause she's tall lol)

No not really. Are you familiar with her?

Btw she absolutely won't pass as a local. Foluke speaks better Japanese than her. I can't even tell if she really knows Japanese or she just memorised what she had to say to Motoko Obayashi. Regardless that's not really important right now since Lars Nootbar got a pass for speaking in full English while playing for Samurai Japan.

  • For the record the youngest member in the A Team first selection is Wada 2002

Actually, other than the Nagaoka, Hayashi, Koga, Mayu, Shimamura, Seki, Shibata, Inoue, Yamada and Fukudome, the jersey numbers are arranged according to their age from oldest to youngest for the whole wide roster. Wada is jersey 37 so there’s 3 players younger than her at 38-40 with Okawa, Saiki and Akimoto.

Her American accent is super thick

  • To be specific, Manabe chose Gromos because of her energy(attitude) and height. He didn't specify her strengths.

In the video right before she speaks Manabe says "Angelina akarui desu ne" Akarui means bright or more specifically someone who is cheerful.

Not particularly. She played for two small schools in the NCAA.

I think the interest in Japanese-Americans is interesting. There's another player whose like 16 who was at a training camp recently.

seems like she's there cause she's tall lol. maybe she'll surprise like Airi did. (or at least I think she did lol)

They have 14 American prospects in the youth camp only Keila made the cut. That was entirely random I don't know their process
