I wanted too because the last time we met japan was a year ago, which we lost them with 0:3, and we won't meet them until next year. We met germany quite a lot and we know that it won't be easy against germany.

Sorry but Japan can’t beat Italy 3rd team. What is so hard exactly?
Additionally ranking wise it would be better to play Japan or Italy. If we lose against Germany it impacts rankings a lot and decreases OG chances. If we lose to Italy or Japan it has almost 0 impact and therefore 0 pressure.

IMHO they have really great service and Poland team had a lot of problems with that in the past.
Last year they easily lost it 0-3.
The last time they beat them was in 2019 if I am not mistaken. It was during Montreux Volley Masters, and the main reason that POL won it was great game by Kowalewska and smart attacks by Smarzek.
At least if Germany wins we won't lose more points during Semifinal and the Final

POL - GER 1-3, they lose around 10 pts
POL - GER 2-3, they lose around 8 pts
POL - JPN 0-3, they lose 10 pts
POL - JPN 1-3, they lose 7 pts
POL - JPN 2-3, they lose 5 pts

I wanted Japan, Korneluk would bully them all. Now we have to struggle against Weitzel and Alsmeier, which is always good against us.

I mean I like Alsmaier, but not when playing against us, because as I remember most of games in VNL, one of the best or if not the best performance she had against Poland

but you need to multiply it further x2 so if we lose 0-3 to Germany its -13 but also +13 for them so it reduces the difference by 26. It’s quite an impact on the rankings.
