Brazil Women's NT 2023

  • I think that everyone is technically on vacation rn and there will be new calls for the SACh in a week or so.

But yeah, them being already at their clubs is a sign that they are probably not going.

I wonder if we can expect some new faces or if it's just going to be the same VNL group minus a few cuts. If it was up to me, I would rest Gabi, Carol, Thaisa and Macris (plus whoever else is not 100% healthy).

I think I saw some post in social media celebrating the arrival of the respective players in their club.

Voloch have talked about new invitations some days ago, but it didn't sound clear to me if was a wishful thinking or true information, but I agree with you, I would rest the players you mention and add 2 OH and 2 MB, but it seems things will not go this way.

  • South American Championship Roster

    S: Macris, Roberta

    MB: Carol, Diana, Lorena, Thaisa

OH: Gabi, Julia Bergmann, Tainara, Maiara Basso, Pri Daroit

    OP: Kisy, Lorrayna, Lorenne, Rosamaria

    L: Natinha, Nyeme

  • So again, when we all presumed she was over Lorenne ressurges and who knows what will happen with these OPP's, by the way she got married just today!

I mean, the best thing is let Macris, Gabi, Carol and Thaisa out of this, it's too risky for something we (should) can handle with the rest of the players, but he don't wanna let any space for doubts about the results.

I would go with something like this:

    Roberta/Naiane

    Lorrayna/Lorenne

    Julia Bergmann/Rosamaria/Maiara Basso/Gabi Cândido

    Diana/Lorena/Larissa Basen

    Laís

Tainara and Kisy could stay training with Macris, Pri Daroit should go home.

  • Agree 100%. We've had enough injuries already.

Will he do that though? No. X/

  • I wanted to see more of Tainara considering her performance at the QF of VNL. I'd rather have Lorrayna/Tainara as OP.

Diana/Julia Kudiess/Julliana Gandra/Larissa Basen with the last 2 trying out at the NT.

I'm excited to see fresh faces post Paris 2024. Imagine the MB lineup: Diana, Julia K, Lorena, Julliana Gandra, Larissa Basen. Hopefully Rebeca and Luzia develop and progress more. Carol, Thaisa, Gattaz should come in once in a while maybe WC since that tournament changed schedules.

I hope Juju gets to play more this upcoming season, she's my absolute fave. Some people say that this will be Juciely's last season and that Bernardo is preparing Juju to be her successor. But then again Jucy has been playing her "last season" for years now lol.

I think Luzia has a good chance of becoming a starter for Barueri next season. She'll compete with Livia (2003, so also part of the new gen) for the spot. Zé seemed to like Livia better last season, but I judging from what I saw of the U21 team, it seems like Wagão is favoring Luzia. I like Luzia a lot, she's quite agile for her height and seems to be a natural at blocking. But Livia is also very good, so this dispute is going to be fun to watch.

Rebeca will be 3rd MB for Minas until Gattaz gets back, so there's a chance she'll get more minutes too. However, I don't think Nicola really trusts her that much. Julia K recently gave an interview where she said she played pretty much the entirety of the 2022/2023 season injured, and she still started over Rebeca... Which was obviously very irresponsible from Minas' part, they're lucky Julia's injury never evolved into something more serious.

  • ,

Remind me how Brazil went to the semifinal and in final in WC ?

WC is different from South American Championships. They can go without their other regular players

  • Lorenne asked to be not included in the selection for the NT

Edit: maybe its because she recently married and is on honeymoon?

  • It is because she is proud enough and she do not know to let Ze cut her:lol::lol::lol: or something else is happening?

she recently got married and she knows there's a lot of competition for OP role??

  • If I was her I'll do the same. She had one chance, in one set, in a position that nobody gave solid performances, and that's the reason they called her back, they clearly do not trust in the current OPP's avaiable, but then after one bad set she never receive a chance to play at VNL and it's call for more training? For what? Be cut again? Like in Tokyo, or the final phase of VNL last year, or this year? To be than called back because again no one solve the problem? Nah.

  • Sheilla is now an assistant for the Women's NT while Andre Heller is for the Men's NT. They will help the youngsters transition to the NT. Also, Filipe Ferraz, the coach of Sada Cruzeiro is also in Saquarema checking on both NTs. The plan is for coaches and supervisors from other men's and women's teams to participate in the initiative throughout the national team seasons. So we'll see Rezende check on the NTs?!

  • Do you guys know if Ze Roberto is going to stay with NT after Paris?

He gave an interview a few weeks ago, when he completed 20 years ahead of the NT and said that he has no plans to retire, at this point we can say for sure he is staying after Paris.

  • So Ana Cristina is now back at the training center. That was fast! She's already walking
