2023 FIVB Challenger Cup

    This year the tournament gonna be held in France starting 27th July to 30th

    Qualified teams are:

    -France

    -Colombia

    -Mexico

    -Kenya


    The other competitors gonna be the avc challenge winner and 2 teams from cev golden league and also the vnl relegated team


    The same format as last year with playoffs since the day 1

    so it gonna be a big opportu ity for sweden to qualify to a fivb tournament

    I read in a turkish twitter account some weeks ago that the match against belgium gonna be in an arena with capacity for more than 3.000 prople

    So it could be the biggest attendance for a volleyball match in sseden's history

    wow 9 juin is starting final 4 norceca qualifying the winner to challenger cup 2024 (yeah next year)

    Taking part puerto rico,costa rica,trinidad and tobago and nicaragua


    Why i wonder is why not cuba playing and aldo why not mexico? Because even if they achieved their qualification to challenger cup (last year) they can battle for a spot to challenger cup nect year


    Norceca and their weird things

    Cuba usually does not go to any competition taking place in USA territory i asume to avoid desertions by player or crew.

    Do you have any information why South American and African federation picked those teams? Was it based on their ranking?

    They won't... they should.


    There's no reason why they need to qualify in advance other than covid made a mess of it.. It just means the best NORCECA team isnt present... sigh.


    It's probably Cristobal's idea in case DOM ever are in the position to have to compete LOL

    tomorrow we gonna knew the last team qualified to this tournament

    It gonna be most likely croatia


    But why I don't understand is why fivb put it at the enf of the month when most qualified teams finished or gonna finish their qualification tournament


    France last year had a good shape at golden league but lost their momentum

    croatia is the relegated team from vnl and the last qualified to this challenger cup

    So we have:

    🇨🇴 Colombia - 🇰🇪 Kenya
    🇲🇽Mexico - 🇸🇪 Sweden

    🇺🇦Ukraine - 🇭🇷 Croatia


    Ukraine - Croatia should be an interesting one. Kraiduba plays well, I don’t know if Mazenko and Milenko will be with the team, but without Rykhliuk and with Croatia with both Fabris and Mlijnar in a good shape + their experience from VNL, I guess they can fight, but they won’t win yet.


    I’m guessing the final will be between France and Croatia and I hope France will win. Fingers crossed for Cazaute to be healthy 🤞🏻


    I would love to see Sweden win but it’s to early for them. Maybe when Topić, Sjöberg and Rebecka will be back or more players will play in stronger european leagues.

    They can play against each other in semi-finals, because 1-8 match winner plays against 4-5 match winner.

    let's see if kenya compete because last years african teams resigned from this tournament

    Cazaute is not playing for France in their friendly against Italy B right now.
