Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2023/24

  • Im like 70% sure Wilmarie is coming to the American league.

  • Schewerin doesn't have a second libero right? Maybe it could be a possibility Reesink will be their second libero, because she did pretty well during VNL and Koslowski seems to like her!

  • She's going to Geneve

Seems really hard for liberos to find a good team these days :white:

As for Schwerin, I thought that Bock was supposed to be both OH and backup libero so I don't expect them to sign a 2nd libero, but if they do I could imagine it being Elisa Lohmann, after all she came from their youth. If she's not going to Schwerin I expect her to either to go Swiss league as well or retire :gone:

  • There was an article from Straubing, which had important informations: in the new second league SnowTrex Pro there are limitations for players, i.e. at most four non-domestic players are allowed in a roster and at any time at least three domestic players have to be on court. This is likely to be established - probably in less extreme manner - later also in first league.

That's right, these limitations are also included in the license statute. There are the following three points:

    • At least half of the players from the score sheet must be from the original association DVV. In addition, at least two players must belong to the age group U23.
    • During a game, two players from the original association DVV must be on the field at all times.
    • When playing U23 players from the DVV, the clubs receive a grant.
  • Looks like team of USC Münster starts training these days. Missing Zoe Fleck (USA team?), Elise Petit (Canadian team?), Luisa van Clewe (Universiade for Germany in China) and Rica Maase (German team for ECH?).

And also Anna Chuch is missing, so I think she definitely will leave USC Münster.

  • There is a Soccer Match on Saturday…

Usually it is possible to have football and volleyball at the same time in Stuttgart which can be a bit weird when you hear the roar of the stadium in Scharrena. At the moment there is some construction work going on at the stadium to prepare for (football) Euro 2024 so VfB Stuttgart is using Scharrena (as locker rooms and press centre) when they have home games.

You already mentioned this problem in last season's thread, if I remember correctly. There it would have been the possible third decisive semi-final game against Dresden, which had to be postponed to another day (Sunday instead of Saturday) due to football. That's why, based on VolleyFreak's statement, I assumed that VfB Stuttgart would still have to use the Scharrarena for home games.

  • You can delete Kutlesic too. i just seen her in Zok Ub training. :)

Press article from today confirms that Rica Maase is in NT training fighting for a spot in ECH, but it also says Anna Church and Tatiana Prosvirina were missing because they're still in their home countries. So Prosvirina will return after all? :what:

  • Yes, exactly. The appointment as coach of Stralsund was on June 7th. The official announcement Neue Liga – neuer Chef can also be found on the website. This is the only information about the new season. It is also interesting that this announcement cannot be found on the team's Instagram account. Then a week later on June 14th, he was then appointed coach of ASV Elite, which you can see in the post here. It also states that he will start the job on August 1st.

They published news about Aloi Hobst as new headcoach
