Italy - Serie A1 2023/24

  • Final match of Scudetto was watched by 1.7milion viewers, almost double more than last finals. :super::drink:

    Do you have any source for that information? With Italy having 60 milions citizens, I don't think it's possible to gain such ratings/average no of viewers.

    Edit: lol, I see. It's like the sum of viewers of every game :D The final game was watched by 0.4 milions, not 1.7

    Considering we're talking of a football-centric country, where a magazine called "La Gazzetta dello Sport" reserves 40 out of 45 pages to football, and Game 4 was broadcasted on Rai 2, not too shabby.

    In Serbia, Cup super final was watched by 700k people. It was male and female game in same hall and was on main national TV not cable one.

  • Which clubs are the ones with best youth academy traditionally?

  • Which clubs are the ones with best youth academy traditionally?

    Among the ones playing the finals, Volleyrò is the best. They are filling Club Italia for years by now.

    It is also a matter of regions more than clubs: usually Lombardia, Veneto, Toscana and in general northern Italy regions produce more players.

  • Which clubs are the ones with best youth academy traditionally?

    As already said Volleyrò has been one of the team with the best program in a while, this is the 10th final in a row they get in this competition. Imoco has also improved a lot their youth program in the last 5 years or so, currently those 2 are the best. If you check the under NT from Italy usually the majority of the players come from those two teams plus maybe just 3/4 players coming from other clubs

  • How is youth academy of medal contender teams like Novara, Scandicci and Milano? Are they also investing like Conegliano?

  • How is youth academy of medal contender teams like Novara, Scandicci and Milano? Are they also investing like Conegliano?

    Scandicci is affiliated with Volleyrò, but they also started recently a direct youth team - this year they won their regional tournament for the first time but didn't make it past group stage at the nationals. Milano is also improving, they have been better in the past few years, I think they're trying to have a good team but it's still early to tell.

    Novara is a bit hit or miss, they have good structure but I guess not great recruitment program, sometimes their teams are good sometimes so-so.

  • In the women league playoffs only count if you reach the final (meaning that the first two are sure of Champions League). Otherwise the regular season placement is the only thing that counts for the European Cups access. This year thay did the Challenge cup playoffs but was completely nonsensical because they still counted the regular season placement for every other Cup.

    It's not really like that...

    The team that goes to the CEV Cup is the best classified in the Regular Season after qualifying for the Champions League and the classified for the CL are not decided only on the basis of placement in the Regular Season...

    Qualified for the Champions League (three participants) with the following order of law:

    a. championship winner;

    b. best classified at the end of the regular season (excluding the winner of the Scudetto);

    c. championship final loser;

    d. Second best finisher at the end of the regular season

    Qualified to the CEV Cup (one participant)

    a. winner of the Coppa Italia (if not already qualified for the Champions League);

    b. otherwise the best classified in the regular season (excluding teams already qualified for the Champions League);

    This part will almost certainly remain the same for 23/24: it has not yet been decided whether the (terrible) formula of a secondary playoff tournament will be maintained to decide who will go to the CEV Challenge Cup...

    Correction... the Playoff Challenge Cups are confirmed...

  • watching this article about team rosters

    I like novara,they build a good team for next season

    Chieri imo zakchaiou is a bad move for being starters,then good signing of omoruyi and skinner and malinov

    Busto a really young and weak team,I hope they won't be relegated

    Pinerolo an interesting team,of all teams that gonna fight for avoiding relegation,they are the best for me

    https://www.volleynews.it/la-n…arsizio-cuneo-e-pinerolo/

  • I forgot cuneo

    They have good midles and good setter but oh are pretty average compared to last cuneo oh,imo is weak link of the team

    Seems that they gonna suffer with opposite as last season,enweonwu just recover from a 2 year break and she is injury prone

    Adelusi has no level to be an starter

  • Allianz will be the main sponsor of Vero Volley Milano for the next 3 years.

    The club's name will be Allianz VV Milano.

    https://www.volleynews.it/vero…e-sara-allianz-vv-milano/

    So that means that next season they are gone have even bigger budget.

    I think slowly we are entering to Milano era…

  • SupperCoppa is gone be played 28.10, 17:30 in PalaLivorno.

    Match between Conegliano vs Milano.
