IBK re-signed Kim Hochul for the head coach position again. Not sure about this one lol. He got the 1st pick for the foreign tryouts and the 1st pick for the Asian quarter tryouts - yet it never really materialized to anything.

Pornpun was injured for the few last games and it affected IBK position. Abercrombie has the most points for each match but let down by her team mates

Hmm.. I can understand Abercrombie not re-signing coz she can play in LOVB or some other league. Pornpun though... they can definitely re-sign her unless she got a better offer in Japan. Weird that they release something like this.

Anyone watching the play off ? Red Sparks had a big lead in set 3 and could be leading 2:1 but Pink Spiders caught them at 23:23 then 25-23 😳

I'm watching! That was a good run. Score is at 16-22, then they got it closer with 20-23 then Pink Spiders got 5 straight points

They passed every ball to Mega and the blockers were ready for her

Really fun match. Red Spark's greatest weakness is their predictability. They can't expect Mega to hard carry them all the time.

For this part of the playoffs, I believe if Pink Spiders win the next match, then they'll meet Hyundai in a best of 3 match.

Possibilities

1. IBK decides to go with a spiker (OH/OPP/MB) for Asian Quarter for next season's draft as it opened up to more countries, and perhaps due to Pornpun being prone to injury (she was injured just a few matches in last season too).

Amongst all the Korean setters in v-league, she's definitely the best, but unfortunately there's only a certain extent a good setter can lead their team to victory. Megawati proved how much more an impact a spiker could give to the club.

2. Pornpun could have received offers to play elsewhere, or chose to rejoin draft to potential play for another club (lesser money since 2nd consecutive year increases her salary quite a bit)

Oh yeah this is what I meant lol. In 3 games, 2 matches needed to be won to advance. For the championship, 3 matches needed to be won (out of 5).

Pornpun invited Pyo Seungju, Abercrombie and Shin Yeongyeong to Thailand for a vacation. I think they got really good chemistry. Hope Pornpun still plays in Korea though.

Pyo Seungju has literally let her hair down and I couldn't recognise her at first glance. I hope they will have a nice vacation

It's leg 2 in a best of 3 for a chance play Hyundai for the Championship (post regular season)...Pink Spiders are leading the series 1:0, but in the second match... Red Sparks are leading 2:0 (sets). They can't let this one slip away.... can they ? 😲

Gia and Megawati hard carried

Rest of team weren't too bad either but 30 & 25 points respectively wow

Pink Spiders had 3 players scoring double digits but weren't able to execute this time, but they still remain as the favourites to win undoubtedly

Pink Spider fans are absolutely brutal in the hate towards Willow its painful to see, despite her being top scorer in their previous win. Even leaving hate comments on her Instagram that people are telling her to limit her comments

Also impressed KGC is performing this well without Lee Soyong & Jung Hoyoung, effect of being able to have 2 foreign players I suppose

In other news, Jang Soyeon (the broadcaster/ex-pro player) will be AI Peppers' head coach next season

I'm looking forward to it, but Peppers' roster itself is still a huge problem...

Jang So Yeon is the new coach for Peppers. She's mostly known as an announcer nowadays. I kinda like they are going back to a local coach.

Pink Spiders won against Red Sparks! Really great performance from the team. Now its gonna the championship match against Hyundai on March 28 onwards.

I managed to catch set 3... Red Sparks' challenge ran out of steam I think all the players were tired after a long hard campaign, but KYK did a great job rallying her teammates and her team were the stronger side yesterday.

Very much looking forward to the final
