S.Korea - 2023-2024 V-League (Women)

  • In yesterday’s match (Friday) Pink Spiders beat GS Caltex 3:0 Lee Ju-Ah was awarded match MVP. I like Ju-Ah but Idk why, for some reason when I look at her I think about Kim Do-Ah and Choi Yuni from the Suwon City club which participated in the VTV Cup in October. And then, I’m thinking, Suwon City is not in the Korean V league. Is there another league, like maybe a Div 2 that they belong ? I miss them, and I miss the VTV Cup as well, it’s a fun tournament :)     throwawayanyway

Well, yes the Suwon club is not part of the league. Its not an official Division 2 league but it is where most volleyball go when they aren't signed in the V-league. Some players, like Choi Yuni who played for Suwon, used to play with Pink Spiders.

  • 시럽 only have 4 teams, suwon, Yangsan, Daegu, Pohang. Many familiar face there ( baek mok hwa, lee jin, kim ga young, hwang yun seon and many more)

Seriously they need 2nd division for these young player to compete, because most club only run 8-9 player rotations.

Err... can you help please, I did a Google translation but it didn’t quite work out :|

  • It’s translated into “unemployment volleyball”.. probably means these teams aren’t attached to the main V league ?

Peppers suffered another loss today. It was close at first, with Peppers leading in the middle of set 3 when it was 1:1 However the match ended with IBK winning 3:1 :|

Pepper's coach really need to replace Yeum Erheung in the 1st set... she's a liability despite being 196cm. Better start with Ha Hyejin immediately. As for Jeong Ah... sigh. They need better receives to have nicer plays and she ain't it.

  • It seems that the normal youtube channel for v-league has been taken down and now the channel only post videos from the chinese league

It’s a little harder to find links now, but I did find one for yesterday’s match (live action) not sure if it’s been taken down now. I will post the links here for future live matches if they are available.

Do let us know if you’re looking for replays of any matches.. we’ll try to find them :)

You can watch it via Naver. The interface is in Korean though but you can use Google Auto Translate :)

  • Busim used to upload to some place but hasn't in months. Maybe with the YT takedown he'll go back to it

  • " 403 Forbidden "

    :(

    hmm ... I get there

  • Another tiring 5 set match, with PS winning it!

PS has really studied Megawati's attack - bringing down her attack efficiency to 30%. Still, she's Red Sparks best hitters tied with Gia.

PS fans are having fun with Dasol playing more lol but really who can set well for them? I wish Hyejin has more playing time.

  • I noticed something interesting, in set 3 with the score 10-12 iirc, KYK made a super spike, followed by making the sign of the cross, something you don’t often see in volleyball. I have seen some Indonesian badminton players doing it when they win matches.

  • GS Caltex vs Expressway Hi-Pass

Just joining in Set 3, GS Caltex is 2:0. I don’t see Thanacha in the court :(

    Here

    Edit

Hi-Pass went from 12-17 to 22-22, then 25-23 in set 3, they also won set 4 by 25-23, I was hoping for a grand come-from-behind win, but it was not meant to be. Thanacha played the second half of sets 3,4 and 5. Could she be feeling fatigued ? :/

Another player who should be feeling tired but doesn’t appear to be so is GS Caltex’s Silva.

She worked so hard. In my view, she’s the standout player of today’s match.
