Japan - V.League V1 (Division 1, Women) 2023-2024

  • Too heavy a lift for Prestige :white:

  • Damn Score Bug is getting a little antsy already awarding the win to NEC X(

  • aranmare's mbs are not sure what to do

and the rest of the team isn't sure where to stand. Learning curve much?

  • I'm happy Tsu got that VOM. That would be a straight set win for Hitachi if she did not come in and stayed in the latter part of sets 2 and 3 and finally started at set 4 . All the spikers are having a hard time with Shiori's sets. I miss Sawada :dance6:

It's weird. Tsukada has been setting for the team for years -- albeit without much success, but you'd think there'd be better chemistry

NEC needs to hand over the reins to Tsu

ps - but I wanted Hitachi to win

  • Toray. Welp. I'm reconsidering my defense of them losing to JT

Denso :box: Kurobe should be the match of the night . I will be disappointed if it isn't

  • Wish Prestige coulda got one more point in that 3rd set. It's best to score at least 15

  • Come on girls. No campfires

  • This is the kind of swingin' I've been waiting for from Minami Yoshida :rose:

  • I'm impressed with the photos they've come up with for player intro things. A lot better than most of what's on the V.League site rosters. Nice photoshop work

[-] Since they just put up Derya's player tag thing without a photo:

  • This Denso/Kurobe kerfuffle is not meeting my match of the night requirements. Color me disappointed

unless Kurobe pulls one of their infamous 0–2 comebacks

Bring your slings and arrows for Toray :white:

  • Yuka Yamaguchi's setting is surprising stable. I don't think I've ever seen her set a whole match before this weekend. Maybe a summer match or something but she was Tsukasa Nakagawa's backup in college, so dub sub was the extent of her play time. She was always good at it because she is positive and fun with an arena wide smile :rose:

  • only one match so far. I love her energy. She’s going to get a lot of reception practice that’s for sure. I’m a little unfair to both Kurobe setters but I think she’ll look much better if they find some rhythm. I’m rooting for Kurobe so you’ll get updates, cheers and groans. No way they make Final stage (top 6) but I think they will entertain

Thanks for the update! To be honest, I've considered Derya as a lost case for a long time because of her inability to receive. However she surprised me last summer with her decent reception. That's why I'm curious about her development in defensive skillset. I'm happy that she had the courage to play abroad at such a young age.
