  • I'm just catching up with the games now... Yuri Yoshino hit 3/26 in attacks or 11.5% lol, and that's already among the best stat among their OHs? Other OHs who played are Yajima with 3 points then Tsugumi and Yoshino Nishikawa with 0 points after playing a set. Toray really needs better OHs

Yoshino Nishikawa is disappointing. She had some spunk during her debut and had a packed swing but now she's just plain sluggish. I was actually surprised when I first saw her this season. Such a huge difference during her first year at Toray compared to now. She gained all that fat with very little muscle. In general she's just not in good shape.

  • Prestige is trying Meso at OH but not putting in the southpaw at OP ?(

  • Prestige in control (20–15) until ... 24–26 :white:

  • Yes! to this Okayama setter :rose:

    Kawamoto and his rotations :S

  • This is TLDR. Ignore it if you came here for the recent match results.

Fukazawa said in her VB Monthly interview (getsuvb) that during the 4th set in the match against NEC she sprained her ankle. The literal google translation says injured her foot but it wasn't that bad.

I wanna point out that this has been an unfortunate pattern with Megumi. She somehow always ends up with a mild sprain, hip issues, basically a lot of physical problems. I lost count how many times since she debuted with Saga has she picked up these minor injuries. It's also very concerning how many of their players seem to get injured every season. I don't work in the medical field nor am I knowledgeable enough so I'm not gonna elaborate on injuries.

This was her crying during the awarding

Mind you Nakada said problematically in the past, that coming in second/getting silver means absolutely nothing. If I remember correctly she said it's nothing to be proud of nor should it be celebrated. This only goes for the local league. She obviously changed her tone once she became NT head coach.

    Anyway back to Fukazawa.

It's clear that she's extremely ambitious and takes everything seriously. But I wonder if she's trying way too hard to be the next ace of this team that it's having the opposite effect on her. She dreads getting benched. She seems to hate getting yanked and replaced with Nakajima. She should continue to improve and grow without draining herself too much. I don't know her twin at all so I wouldn't know how different they are. I just hope she accepts her limits since that seems to be an issue with her being an allrounder.

Also, in the interview she says scoring is her specialty but it's honestly not. Maybe in HS that was what she thought she was good at and she did it well idk. But she's not even close to what makes a stable scorer. All good though. She's still finding her strengths and hopefully figure out how to balance her skills to avoid putting herself physically at risk.

I noticed her and Nakajima are not very chummy but what do we know right?

Anyway rather than trying too hard maybe it's more like she's eager to solidify her spot within the team which leads to an NT call in the future. They're in a transition after all and Saga is currently ace-less. The whole "absolute ace" craze.

I can't say that I'm a fan of either girls but Nakajima is the exact opposite of Fukazawa and she did prove to be reliable during those times when Fukazawa was in bad shape. Healthy rivalry within the team is always encouraged but I don't know if that's the case with these 2.

  • Shion? Okabe from Higashi that's going to Hitachi is 178cm and has a spike height of 300cm. I don't know if that's block or spike reach as it's not indicated in the article. Sounds interesting.

You can watch her highlight via the link in the article but with Japan vpn.

I think volleyb already posted her but again this is her

  • With 11 matches left in the regular season, I think that JT, Hisamitsu, NEC and Saitama are pretty much locks for the top six that make the playoffs.

JT have 2 wins (not points) lead over Hisamitsu and NEC, but will also probably have better sets ratio if tied on points.

Hisamitsu, NEC, and Saitama are all going to battle each other for probably the bye into the semifinals.

Denso and Toyota have at least 1 full win (and points) ahead of Hitachi in 7th place. They are at least 2 full wins (and points) ahead of Toray and PFU.

After that Kurobe and Okayama are probably battling for 10th place, and can Aranmare get a win this season?

  • Kurobe, PFU and Aranmare have all put out tweets saying that all players and staff are accounted for from the Ishikawa earthquake.

PFU and Kurobe would have been the closest to the earthquake and Aranmare is further northeast.

  • Kurobe is supposed to host four matches this weekend, and I don’t know if that will be possible.

let alone if PFU has any problems getting to their games as well.

PFU is supposed to host four matches on the weekend of the 20-21 of January and again to early to even guess.
