Japan - V.League V1 (Division 1, Women) 2023-2024

  • Why did Derya give that unknown middle blocker a bro hug when she came on court :/

  • How will be new system? HOw many teams?

15 teams, 12 from V1 and 3 from V2 (Himeji, Gunma and Hamamatsu) have applied to be part of the Superleague.

However, the league has said that their top level will have a maximum of 16 teams. The league would like to have two conferences, so I would guess at this point it will be 12 or 14 teams, to allow for even number of teams in each conference.

THanks for the answer! Will the number of allowed foreign player per team change as well?

Akane Ukishima 25/48, 3 blocks, 1 ace is such a team player. She spent three years with Hisamitsu (don't think she ever played in anything but Summer, etc) , and this is her 6th year with Kurobe, and she rarely gets court time, a victim of importus interruptus. But she stays in shape, always ready to go :drink:

  • THanks for the answer! Will the number of allowed foreign player per team change as well?

yes. word is they are shooting for an Italian League model, but I don't know exactly what that means

    Quote

    - There shall be no limit to the number of foreign players that each club may enter in a match.

    - However, there shall be a limit on the number of foreign players who can play on the court at the same time.

When S-V.LEAGUE and S-V.LEAGUE associate member cup matches are held, the "V.LEAGUE (2+1)" rule shall be adopted.

    - Players shall be changed 6 times per set. International rules shall apply.

    It's going to get ugly

  • Is 2+1 means 2 foreigner and 1 asian foreigner?

yes but with extras. Some Asian countries will become "affiliates" and their players will not count as foreigners , and if, say, a Turkish kid moved to Japan and went to high school there, she will not be counted as foreign, unless she played for Turkey

It will be possible to field a full court of non-Japanese players

I think this will work for boys but not so much for girls

One of the behind the scenes goals is to shift fan support from players to teams, locales. I'm skeptical, especially if the "team" is a bunch of foreigners

  • Miyu said in her latest Little Lips fanclub mail the things that got her through rehabilitation and one of those is surprisingly the book for psychopaths 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene =O like girl who recommended that to you honey no. I can see how that would motivate her but there are definitely other books out there far more suitable for her situation

Here's a link to the Japanese version she included

not much of a reader here but that book is banned in iran and so is that author lmao i've heard of it simply because it's banned

  • Of course it's banned it's a manual that encourages toxic behavior. It's about complete and utter control of everything mind body people money success everything but in such a brutal and soulless manner. Not the most subtle but very overrated university material that many professors use for debate purposes. I hate everything about it. It gives you so much anxiety but I'm curious how it comes off when translated to Japanese the tone may be a little bit softer
