  • Will the champion of Final Four secure a spot in FIVB Challege Cup to promote VNL?

i may not be the tallest,
    the fastest, or the strongest,
but at least i can do one thing better than anyone else,
    to be me...

  • The FIVB Challenger Cup was held for the last time in 2024. Promotion to the VNL is now determined solely by the world rankings, as the highest-ranked team outside the VNL replaces the team that finishes last in the VNL preliminary round.

  • Will the champion of Final Four secure a spot in FIVB Challege Cup to promote VNL?

there is no challenge cup anymore

  • I see. the highest WR ranked team that is not qualified will be directly replacing the last place of VNL

    the fastest, or the strongest,

  • Is still the cut at the ending of vnl?

As eslovenia gonna advance in ranking

  • Quote

The highest - ranked team in the FIVB Volleyball World Ranking as of the end of the relevant VNL edition that did not participate in the event shall be promoted to compete in the following edition of the event. For the avoidance of doubt, the relegated team will not qualify to retain its position in the event as a promoted team.

That is how it is stipulated in the 2026 VNL regulations (Point 2.7 b), which can be downloaded here. So yes, the team being promoted is determined at the end of the VNL.

Even if Slovenia were to overtake Argentina via the European League, they would still have to wait for the Copa Sudamericana (known as the Copa Americana last year). This tournament takes place concurrently with the VNL final round and thus after the European League. The Copa Sudamericana offering Argentina a chance to make up the necessary points on Slovenia.

  • Today Mexico will eat PR alive.

PR is all about Champion. This team sadly misses its top choices on the OH pool and no one can pass to save her life.

Paola Santiago, Fefa Rivera, Sofia Victoria, Alondra Vazquez, Karla Santos... They are all far ahead of VVG. Nataly García could be good, but she plays fake OPP in order to release pressure from Champion (her spiking is as elite as her back row kills still suck).

The only pleasant surprise so far i Jusino, who is playing great for a player that just spent a whole season on bench after staying out of volleyball for years...

  • Is there any news on how long Parra will be out?

Will she miss the entire summer season?

  • The Mexico vs. Puerto Rico match is awful because of the refereeing. I've never seen so many points handed to the home team for free. Shame on NORCECA.

The line judges and the referee should be banned — it looks like they are watching a completely different match <X

  • I honestly disagree.

Yeah, yeah. Point for 18-14 for Puerto Rico in the 4th set was inside the court. That was not even touching the line. Perfect attack. What was the decision? Out.

Every attack off the PR block is being given to Puerto Rico. The officials are getting it wrong every time. I mean... not wrong. They want PR to win that match :)

it happens in every norceca tournament without video review

why do you think the dominicans used to host as many events as they could :lol:

the smartest play in norceca is to avoid blockout off fingers as much as possible lol

you guys over in the Norceca thread are funny !

...here in Asia there's also some bias refereeing and cheating by linesmen favouring the home side but VAR put a stop to most of it.

  • There were 2 bad calls right after I wrote, but PR won a set so far where Mexico made like 15/16 mistakes...

What's the difference how many mistakes they've made? Don't try to justify bad refereeing by blaming the team that's being robbed by those mistakes.

What about point for 6-5 in the tiebreak? Clearly a block touch. And referee killed the momentum of Mexico and killed the match. Just one decision gave a win for PR straight away
