Women's NORCECA Events

For having experience in Japan, China, and Russia... Tapia is just not... good.

USA U23 is up 2-0 on DOM. Tapia, Ariana, and one of the VNL middles are playing.

USA won the U21 over Chile. Costa Rica earned their first ever NORCECA level medal with bronze.

Brooklyn DeLeye was MVP.... she really didn't have any business being in this event lol

In U23, Cuba reverse swept Canada. None of the other games were interesting. The groups are a bit unbalanced with Suriname/Costa Rica in the same group but I guess that cant be avoided.

It will never happen because of $$

but I'd like to see USAV push for Pan-Pacific events to be held..... There's just not many reasons for USA to compete at the NORCECA level anymore (at least with their "top" teams..... the only times they're being challenged is when they send rando squads)

Get USA/Japan/China + Brazil and whoever else for good measure/wants to play competing against each other more regularly.

USA has withdrawn from the Pan Am Cup.

Colima is under a Level 4 warning from the state department of "Do Not Travel To"

the weird part is.... this warning was put out in September... why are they waiting 3 days before the event for this

The odd part is they let the U23 team travel to Guanajuato.... which is under a Level 3 warning for "Reconsider Travel to"

Topete had like 32 points with 50% attack for Mexico.

USA middle Ifenna Cos-Okpalla had 23 points, with 12 blocks.

Ok well the final was a letdown... USA swept Canada pretty easily.

Ifenna Cos-Okpalla (MB) was MVP and Best Blocker

Aime Topete was best scorer and OH.

Emmy Klika was best libero/receiver/digger for the Brenda trio of awards lol

the rest of the awards, meh. They're NORCECA awards (aka usually bad). The best OH didnt even start/play the final, the best setter was mid, and i dont even know who the best opposite was lol

Pan Am Cup starts tomorrow.

Afaik DOM is bringing their World Championship team. Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico probably will as well (rosters arent published yet)

Canada is sending their next gen team. USA withdrew.

Peru will be trying to earn ranking points and I think they'll surprise some teams. Argentina isn't playing due to CSV's spat with NORCECA over the Copa America.

Trinidad had travel issues and I don't think they're in Colima yet.
