Transfer Rumors & Discussion (2024/2025)

  • So Beşiktaş wants to build a stronger team next year. They signed Rozanski already. Apparently they also interested in Alexia Carutasu. And some sources say they are close to sign her.

She was rumored to GS but her recent form might’ve caused some question marks in GS side and fans. Basically fans don’t want her and want someone better. I don’t know if they can find a good OPP tho. Even Vakıf is struggling with that.

It's not only about finding someone better than Carutasu is very hard at this Opp market but also for a club to be able to afford to play with a foreign setter, they really need a local opp. So it wouldn't make much sense for GS to get a foreign opp slightly better than Carutasu. She as local is very valuable in Turkish league. And being a backup opp in a top club is totally different than playing as a starter opp in GS which carutasu has already played before.

I'm cautious about Besiktas, they once in every 5 years invest in volleyball and build a good team but then they don't pay to their players so either there are a lot of court cases or they end up relegating the year after. Their volleyball branch has been very messy in last two decades I've been following them. So I won't get too excited about them until I see them finishing the season with same roster

  • I think GS has good locals now, so signing of Carutasu is not fatal for them. I would actually pick Anthi as opposite over her although she simply stopped playing in the half of season once she signed with THY last time.

For BJK, Carutasu makes a lot more sense since their locals are slightly weaker and this will definitely help them to build a stronger core.

As long as Ceylan and Ayos keep supporting them financially they will be fine. Or as long as they find another sponsor.

Agree Beşiktaş would be a better option than GS for Alexia. In Beşiktaş she would have less pressure and would perform better. They are building a young team(Dilay, Rozanski, İdil, Bengisu(?). They would be dangerous

  • Rumors of Uzelac to Sesc Flamengo are getting stronger

I’ve read that Bernardinho personally contacted her. It seems like over the top “bombastic” click bait but I’ve been reading about her to Sesc all over twitter for a week now

How good is Bernandinho compared to other coaches in terms of working with young players?
I know he is considered legend and he developed Gabi and Ana C amongst many, but Mihajlovic also worked with him and didn’t improve her passing (she is naturally bad passer really I know)

I honestly believe that Bernardinho is the best in the game when it comes to developing players. When you look at Sesc's current line-up, you see a lot of players who were once considered to be average/mediocre and are now playing very well: Laís (the best Brazilian libero after Brait IMO), Valquíria, Sabrina, Brie King. Roni Jones-Perry's passing and defense has also improved a lot.

Kosheleva also got some of his magic touch.

  • About LOVB, I wonder if players get a say in which team they are going to play, or if it's all assigned by the league.

To be honest, I was kind of meh on LOVB because six teams just didn't seem enough to me to make it exciting, but now I'm actually looking forward to it. If they can make all the teams equally competitive, it could be really fun. And Folie is a great signing for sure.

That's the plan! Compare to italy and turkey who have alot of teams but mostly mid to lower aren't exciting lol. These 6 teams will be more exciting and competitive if they will distribute the players equally.
