2024 Women’s Volleyball Nations League

  • Losing a set in this match counts as a lost match imo. We need every point and

    Somehow it's true.

For today Netherlands can lose to Canada 2:3 and they will go to OG.

If we calculate Japan-Korea 3:0, USA-Ned 3:0 and Japan-Canada 3:0, then Ned still needs to score 1 set against Canada on Friday to be over them after the match - we have 284.52 vs 283.75 but Canadas win over France is worth more then Neds over Korea and they will overpass Ned in the ranking.

So each set scored against USA and Japan helps these teams a lot.

And at the end still nothing is known except that Netherlands-Canada is the match for the ticket ^^

  • I expected our middle to struggle but they were beyond awful in this game. Granted, Miljevic completely ignored them for a large majority of the match and they are still figuring out which position to attack from since both Osmajic and Malesevic are predominantly slide attackers, but all of that aside, they were awful in pretty match all segments.
That said, both Perovic and MIljevic middle setting isn't they strength so hopefully we see some improvement in these coming matches.

    Nice summary.

Using middles in attack is main thing that we lack in challenging top teams on this level.

We struggled in the block too, but this is just a bad day, but middle attack is something that we care forever in vnl when we play without Maja and Drča.

I wouldn't say it was just a bad day. Our service pressure was pretty low in the first 2 sets which largely contributed to our poor blocking imo. The reception lineup of Knollema, Marring and Reesink isn't the best and it's a shame we weren't able to use it to our advantage outside of the 3rd set. Their attackers had too many 1 on 1 attacks which was caused by fast sets to the outside after a perfect or tight reception.

Biggest factors of why we lost the game, despite having better reception, are MBs who were 3/13 in attack (23%) compared to 11/20 from Netherlands (55%) and errors with the discrepancy of 33 to 21, so +12 points gifted to Netherlands. This game was much more winable than it seemed.

But I agree on the last part completely, it's gonna be a continuous problem post Paris. :sos:

Yes, and besides our setter not able to use middles, Saim kinda made few mistakes at the end that made difference. He did not ask for a challenge in a few situations, late timeouts and he did not sub Tica for Ivanovic in the forth when was obvious that she was done for today(but she had good game). Its clearly visible that she is GG no2, late timeouts(sometimes when set is already done), and outside hitters changes and this is also funny, he or replace them too often, or stick with them on court too long.

  • Ana Cristina doesnt start for Brazil

Does anyone know any news about her?

  • Does anyone know any news about her?

Maybe resting her for Turkiye. And more minutes for Julia

  • Well Ana Cristina is running around with the other bench players during time outs

  • Well even without Ana Cristina, Brazil is still playing good

  • What a dirty set so far:white: and Czyrniańska after 1 year without playing is like monster in serve and spike:white:

  • So how many NTs did Lavarini coach?

  • Brazil doing ok so far even without Ana Cristina on court.

  • Imo there is a lot of better receivers to fill this spot instead of Daroit.
