  • Seki and Inoue's spots should be challenged

AND I hope they change their marketing of the married couple it's getting too TMI at this point. I don't need to know where tf they both sleep during Fridays okay TBS? Fuck their relationship if the women's team doesn't get anywhere. Results first, PDA later or never.

i think they're an adorable couple but i agree that the nt pr for koga/hinotori heavily relied on their marriage. by now most fans probably know more about their matching keychains than any achievements they've had so far

  • koga and nishida cannot truly be considered a power couple without koga achieving anything in the nt. no titles (becoming captain because of the 2nd saori hype doesn't count), no medals, no records. she hasn't even played overseas yet. ask zhu ting boskovic gabi egonu vargas haak arina even the retired kyk ask any of these stars who koga is... who is she in the volleyball industry? has any foreign coach ever talked about her? nope. that's the difference between her and nishida. the industry already knows nishida. most people are just starting to know koga.

im not saying it's her fault but there are definitely some decisions she could've made to give a better impression/representation of the women's team. now it's like her entire reputation is just being married

  • Happy 2024 to everyone! another Olympic year is upon us. Tokyo felt like it was just last year. Kinda crazy

Anyway, Nishispo releases possible Paris selection of Nagaoka, Nishimura and Araki https://topics.smt.docomo.ne.j…po/sports/nishispo-809810

The article specifically has Olympics in the title so we'll stick to that.

Depending on league rankings and whoever tops Best 15, Manabe may take the opportunity to shift roles. I also want to point out that since Inoue is in Manabe's own team he might continue to gatekeep Ishikawa. Manabe may be a hard stats guy but when it comes to Inoue he doesn't seem to take that into account. We'll see how that affects his V2 girls.

  • I watched some 2003-2006 matches recently and I saw and reminded Kana Oyama which was one of the best Japanese NT players that days. Iremember that she got injury before WCH 2006, something with her knee as I read. But what was actually her problem and why she never came back to a such high level?

  • I hope more Japanese players will play abroad 🙏

  • I hope she does stay in Serie A1. Mayu will always choose a higher calling and take on challenges outside of her comfort zone. I respect that since that's what someone of her caliber should be doing. Constant evolution not crowd pleasing. Good to see her brother encourage her in that direction.

  • Nishida I have some doubts about since he was disappointed in what happened to him in Italy and seem to have discouraged his wife from going anywhere. I'm referring to their holiday couple interview by tbs too. It's all about local shit. Dominating s.v. league and what not. Yawn. Koga has become such a crowdpleaser. Nothing new that we've already known from her. Not befitting of having any title second to a legend or any other. She has led Japan nowhere yet when she could have done that given the opportunities they had playing in their own home country.

But since she's still around Hayashi can't become the other ace. It has to be Koga because.... because? I don't know anymore.

  • I don't watch the V2 matches but looking at the stats, Arisa Inoue haven't played in the VLeague (and not suited up) since November 5. She has only played 3 vleague games this season, the first 3 games of Himeji then missed the next 8 games. She did however play vs JT Marvelous in the Empress Cup, but did not play other matches in that tournament as well, if I remember it correctly.

They don't need her to win, so I initially thought they were just giving the others playing time. But missing 8 league games in a row is not it.

is she in bad shape or what?

  • Has anyone seen Matsui play in Brazil? I tried searching on youtube but found nothing at least not with her playing.

Seki is not "clear" enough with her tosses. No creativity, completely robotic like Nishimura. She has a solid serve except for that one time she took so long ffs and was timed out also her actual sets have no rhythm like I said it's robotic. They gotta do better.

  • Based on the stats so far

OP Nagaoka, OP Hayashi, OH Koga, OH Mayu, Wada OH?

no Tanaka instead Ameze OH. Inoue as sub

    Libero - Fukudome.

Is there anyone better than Nishimura? it would be too risky to get a rookie libero

    Middles - Yamada, Watanabe, Airi

No Irisawa Araki out enter Shimamura

I'll pass with setters since I don't know Matsui's progress and I haven't seen Shibata but if Inoue gets thrown under the bus then same could happen to Shibata in that case Seki is fixed
