VBW used Sarina Nishida in their roster list which I don't understand since they also listed Erika Araki as Erika Shinomiya and they put a different surname for Yamagishi that was confusing
is yamagishi married?

I don't know that's why I was confused
We've had this conversation before so I thought I'd post to set the record straight
According to Oricon https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2355214/full/
Koga will not be changing her surname to Nishida for promotions. She will remain Sarina Koga. I think only Volleyball World used Sarina Nishida but she will not be using her married name for solo promotions.
didnt she already address this issue during her retirement press conference? nishida was even there. i swear its like she can never do anything without him. she said she will continue to promote as sarina koga in the way that saori continues to be saori kimura and not whatever her husband's surname is.

I see. I didn't tune in for her retirement presscon.
Saori is known internationally and in Japan as SAORI or for those diehard fans Saorin her surname Kimura was less emphasized unlike Koga who is known internationally and in Japan as Koga.
There seems to be no discussion about the girls in Italy.
Japan fans should be proud of Fukudome +Ishikawa but Fukudome is amazing considering this is her first season. She's a revelation, one of the best additions this year.
The best strategy that Japan could do is bring their biggest talent to Italy since that seems to be their preferred network. Although they shouldn't rebook Seki to Italy again or at least not to any of the top teams until she fixes her target tossing. Awful one way distribution with no commitment to any kind of strategy.

I'm plenty proud of Fukudome! Wish I could understand the post-game interviews. She did 2 interviews already but none of which are available to view without a Japanese TV subscription
Fukudome's overhand needs more work or just avoid it all together but other than that she's doing great

she shouldn't avoid it. overhand digs are non-negotiable in that setting. they're gonna force her to do that one way or another.

That one way target tossing is the result of having only one reliable hitter i.e. Koga so if Seki was in the court, 88% of her sets are to Koga. She's conditioned to do it that way.
Most of the female NT setters have no system they go by who has the most stamina

Except she's not in Koga's team she's in Conegliano so why does she still have to do that when she has more options
Being conditioned and lacking creativity are not mutually exclusive
it's a shame momii sort of faded. her 2021 self would've been a good candidate in italy
If Airi switches back to OH, she could be eligible to go to Italy but as a middle it would be impossible for her to play anywhere else being only 181. It's not too late to switch back after all the nt is in dire need of taller hitters.

What? No. Even if she switches back to OH, shw won't be good enough for Italy.

The pressure really hit her hard the way it did to Miyashita. I don’t know if she still wants to aim for the NT after being demoted to b team but she’s still young there’s plenty more chances for her
If Valdes is unable to breakthrough and Inoue is the NT’s last desperate hope as the other ace with Mayu the future will be very grim
It's up to the next coach if they think Airi should switch I don't see her deciding that on her own
she was too quick to switch to mb and overall manabe failed to utilize her. she spent more time translating than actually playing the fuck
she seems to be equal parts nepo and merit. not bad.
Valdes and this nepobaby
they're the same height too
