VBL also released a statement about the appointment of Waibl as NT coach and they point out very clearly, IMO even more clearly than DVV, that in the long run a double function as NT coach and Bundesliga club coach is impossible. So basically this means that after the summer, Waibl will have to decide whether he'll fulfill his contract with Dresden until 2026 or continue as NT coach.

I think he's leaving Dresden. He has been increasingly unhappy with Dresden in recent years. Especially because of the reduced budget and the Margon Arena

I'm not so sure, for someone who is linked to the city by a family with three children, staying there would be the safer bet and I think he also might earn more in a normal season with Dresden than as NT coach where DVV probably only pays for the summer months.

I don't know the salary for a national coach in Volleyball.
In women's handball, you earn more as a national coach than as a club coach

Stautz should also be there as OH (which is sad enough), but then it gets thin already. 4th spot might be between Jatzko,Timmer and Kömmling I guess. Agbortabi has had enough chances, she just won't make it on that level. Giving a chance to Kozuch certainly won't hurt under these circumstances.
I think Heynen's decision might be in some way related to the new presidency of DVV, but most of all it's probably related to him being an actual dick.
What about grozer? I haven't watched her yet but based on the fuss about her I wonder if it actually makes more sense to invest in her instead of a bunch of mediocre players?
-
Best choice under the given circumstances, he knows all the players very well and IMO he's a good coach though maybe not all players like his style, such as giving very detailed instructions and not leaving much freedom tactically for players individually.
Thank God they didn't get Ferhat
Even though he might win Turkish league with Eczacibasi this season this doesn't turn him into a high level coach all of a sudden. But then I guess Waibl was the only one who accepted the salary DVV can offer
And isn't it nice how well Italian sources are informed about what's going on in German volleyball when probably DVV won't make any public statement for ages?
First Italian site is really living volleyball, this is a total different level as in Germany. Second league and federation in Italy are mighty and well connected also on a much higher level as In Germany. Third at times German NT made good impact internationally too and fourth clubs like Stuttgart annoyed Italian clubs regularly in the CL last years, despite Coneglianos level is definitely beyond German league teams.

It sure makes sense investing in her like Schwerin does, but right now she's nowhere near adult international level yet. She'll get there with more years of good work I hope.

I have to admit that I don't quite see why Lena Linke should necessarily be Alexander Waibl's choice. For me, like Luisa van Clewe, she is actually the logical choice. Simply because both have a valid contract and are therefore protected.
Plus, you don't have much other choice now. A Wiebke Silge has ended her career, Lea Ambrosius is currently fighting her way back. Then you might have Laura Berger or Laura Broekstra, but with the two of them maybe the point about the contract and the security comes into play, as the German players all play on a voluntary basis for the DVV.
On middle we just need no player aside from Weitzel, Strubbe, Schölzel and Cekulaev currently.

Nobody says that Lena Linke or Luisa van Clewe will be deployed to the VNL. They are probably just needed for VNL preparation. They will then both move to Konstantin Bitter in the U23 national team preparation.
-
But something else surprises me: Shouldn't the preparation phase actually start yesterday in Kienbaum? Because I saw from Instagram that Elena was in Münster at the Preußenstadion today. How does that fit together?

not everyone of the 30 gets invited?

But in Münster there was an article clearly stating she got invited, and I don't think Waibl will un-invite players that Heynen invited. And then, who knows how long that whole coach change has been prepared behind the scenes?
Kozuch last week had an Insta story saying something about training on Monday, so maybe not all players arrived on Friday yet. Of course DVV isn't any help as usual with providing information

In favor of the new people in DVV: they have a lot to do now and it's not easy for them after the chaos of the last years.

Thanks for the reminder, I had completely forgotten that. I only had the date April 20th in mind because that was mentioned in the media as the start.

kozuch also posted that she is in training with busto

You're probably referring to the story she posted over the weekend answering a question in the Q&A. Of course I don't have the story 100% in my head anymore, but it wasn't about the national team, but about where she had been keeping fit lately. And she replied that she was doing the indoor training in Busto Arsizio. If you look at this post or reel now, you can also see that she really trains in the E-work Arena in Busto Arsizio.
Today, Maggie announced in a story that she would comment on the topic of the “national indoor team” this week. So we'll find out soon whether she's in Kienbaum or not.

Kozuch is not part of the NT.

From the interview you can also see that Alex Waibl had no influence on the nominations. The nominations were sent on Thursday, but Alex Waibl was only asked about the position on Friday.
-
Deadline for VNL rosters was on April 16th. Probably they sent it earlier.
